About the job
The Red Hat Ansible Automation team is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you create a variety of content, enablement playbooks, and strategic messaging to further accelerate the success in one of the most competitive technology offerings in the market. You'll also establish a clear understanding of target customers, competition, business drivers, and selling motions to your sales channels and work across teams to design innovative marketing programs to guide customer and channel demand. You'll develop marketing collateral and sales tools that will be used by Red Hat's sales team and partners. You will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams, including Product Management, Campaigns Marketing, Technical Marketing, Partner Management, Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Services teams. You'll conduct research, craft market strategies, and develop content to support demand generation and enable Red Hat field sales. You'll be in charge of developing, communicating, and implementing activities to align with the business plan. You'll need to be able to understand customer needs and develop compelling messaging, as you will spend time in front of customers and partners. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will take the lead in a particular use case area or two like cloud, infrastructure, security, or network automation. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Help us tell stories that resonate with the field and with our customers to help increase business
  • Create effective marketing assets and content, including presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
  • Jointly create technical marketing collateral with technical marketing managers, engineers, and field marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies
  • Collaborate with product management teams to ensure that marketing plans align with directions and support product roadmap and releases
  • Create concise and compelling core messaging for our offerings that embodies key product attributes, including value proposition, use cases, and differentiation
  • Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
  • Support engagements where required in high contact accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
  • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
  • Manage asset repository for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and automation solutions-related content
  • Develop and deliver enablement and training activities for Sales
  • Collaborate with other product teams to create multi-product and multi-solution marketing materials that address customer use cases and challenges
  • Work closely with Public Relations and Analyst Relations team, especially during launches and events


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of product marketing experience; experience with product management or campaign management is a big plus
  • 5+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software, e.g., operating systems, cloud, or system management
  • Understanding of the common technical jargon of the IT infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and system management space
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, computer science, or a related area; MBA is a plus
  • Record of success in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Ability to translate technology features into customer benefits, develop proof points and value propositions for our offerings, and create high-value assets to communicate and promote our solutions internally and externally
  • Experience with content creation and ability to create messaging and positioning based on conversations with more technical stakeholders
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to medium to large audiences
  • Ability and experience working in an persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment (like a startup) with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at once in a highly complex environment
  • Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to develop creative solutions
  • Willingness to travel over 25%, especially if remote, in line with Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Domain knowledge of and experience with open source projects is a plus
  • Pragmatic Marketing experience is a plus
