ROLE

We are looking for a smart and creative public relations professional to join our Corporate Communications team. You will be a key member of the communications team at AB, responsible for executing major PR initiatives in the U.S. that deliver high-impact results.

This includes cultivating and managing media relationships with top-tier, local and trade outlets, spearheading dynamic and innovative campaigns that elevate our thought leadership and expertise, highlighting our responsible investing and ESG platforms, diversity and inclusion efforts, and community engagement work in our communities around the world, in addition to and working closely with portfolio managers to shape and communicate their message to external audiences. This also includes working with our global social media team, helping in building and executing compelling social campaign strategies to increase our social presence.

THE DEPARTMENT

AB's Corporate Communications team is a nimble, global team responsible for all internal firm communications and external communications, including media strategy and public relations facets, and supporting AB's executive leadership team and their speaking engagements. The team is also responsible for AB's corporate website content in addition to the firm's social media channels, overseeing strategy, content, creation, and execution of social campaigns, and expanding engagement.

RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Assist and support in developing strategies and executing proactive media strategies
  • Day-to-day frontline media relations including cultivating and managing relationships with key news outlets and journalists
  • Work closely with portfolio managers and local senior leadership to better communicate their message to external audiences
  • Monitor the news for industry/market trends and developments
  • Write collateral for media events/interviews (e.g. backgrounders, talking points, press releases, pitches, etc.)
  • Collaborate with editorial and marketing departments to develop thought leadership
  • Consistently monitor, evaluate and inform the team on the latest trends and news cycle
  • Identify opportunities to grow our media presence
  • Work with analytics to provide timely and informative reporting
  • Creating content for social media channels and helping with daily posts and monthly campaigns


QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in a related field preferred (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, etc.)
  • 2-5 years' experience in either in-house or agency media relations experience
  • Experience in building and executing social media campaigns


PREFERRED QUALIFCIATIONS
  • Strong foundational knowledge of financial services industry and an interest to learn more
  • Outstanding organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence interacting daily with members of news publications
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Desire to translate key strategic business or financial issues into clear, accessible messages that resonates with media, influencers, clients, and prospects
  • Able to think and act quickly, analytically, and creatively to accommodate dynamic business environment
  • Excellent external relationship building skills
  • Highly collaborative individual
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Expertise in media pitching and writing press releases,
  • Creating compelling social content
  • Working knowledge of PR tech applications, including Cision and Meltwater
