As the Marketing Communications Manager, you will lead marketing communications for the Heart Rhythm Management (HRM) Segment within the Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGTD) business and will support the Philips Cardiology Portfolio.

This critical role leads the development and implementation of integrated internal and external communication strategies and plans to support the goals of the HRM Segment and the broader Cardiology Portfolio.

Specifically, translating objectives into aligned communications plans and serving as a strategic partner to product and marketing managers on the team.

In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better

  • Provide strategic leadership and partnership to the HRM Segment within IGTD - Serve as the marcom partner, supporting achievement of business objectives through marketing communication strategies and tactics.
  • Translate HRM marketing objectives into integrated marketing communication campaigns - Plan based on a deep understanding of customer needs, product positioning and organization's strategic goals. Lead the cross-functional creation of integrated communication campaigns based on critical business needs and aligning strategies, tactics and execution. Lead team of marcom, digital, internal communication, PR, and creative teammates to achieve these objectives. Employ analytics to measure success and refine plans.
  • Effectively employ internal and external channels: Responsible and accountable for ensuring messages effectively reach target audiences including, but not limited to the following internal channels: email, internal social media community, internal electronic news boards, business level email accounts, in-person meetings (e.g., town halls, national sales meetings, leadership visits) as well as the following external channels: PR, email, print, media, web, digital, social media. Employ analytics to measure effectiveness and reach.
  • Align HRM strategy and tactics at IGTD, IGT, and Cardiology Portfolio levels: Work closely with IGTD leadership, marketing, marcom and conventions/events at both the IGTD and IGT level ensuring alignment and execution throughout the organization on HRM initiatives and messaging.
  • Partner with global HRM marketing and communication partners to ensure not only global messaging alignment, but also local customization to meet geography specific needs. Work closely with Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGTS) and Cardiology Portfolio Marketing Communications managers in ensuring alignment of HRM messaging. Maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ensure alignment with Philips brand standards and key messaging - Ensure HRM IGTD marketing communication tactics are in line with and support the Philips corporate brand standards.
  • Support HRM Marketing at internal and external events (i.e., sales meetings, tradeshows, Town Hall meetings, etc.) with messaging, graphics, surround tactics, etc. as needed.
  • Manage external vendors and related contracts to support HRM marcom activities. Work within established HRM marketing budget and provide input on future budgeting exercises during planning phases around initiatives and events.

You are part of

You will report to the Director of Marketing Communications in the Image Guided Therapy Devices business within Philips Health Systems.

This position will partner closely with other IGTD business segment Marketing Communications Managers and the Digital Marketing Manager, as well as Marcom & Digital Managers from the IGT Systems and Cardiology Portfolio teams, to ensure consistency of messaging, content and delivery.

Supports a business of 2,000+ employees at three main sites (San Diego, Colorado Springs, Maple Grove) plus manufacturing sites, as needed.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications-related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years' experience in marketing communications, internal communications and PR
  • Understanding of business strategy and critical role of communications in executing strategy
  • Ability to provide art and creative direction to internal and external design teams
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including copywriting experience
  • Ability to lead and develop integrated marketing communication campaigns including, but not limited to print, media (video, animation), web, digital and PR
  • Collaborative, inclusive spirit
  • Ability to interact effectively with both executives and all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work within a matrixed environment balancing needs of multiple partners (experience in large corporation preferred)
  • International experience; cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time for sales meetings, tradeshows and summits/workshops
