The Marketing Analytics Specialist is a curious and passionate problem solver who finds ways to address the business needs of ADUSA brands with customer data while building marketing technology solutions to improve the customer experience. Owning and leading the audience building process, acting as the subject matter authorities in the use of ADUSA customer data for marketing and guide the local brand organizations in using this data to improve campaigns. They'll find opportunities for improving the customer experience via personalization.
This role sits within the marketing center of excellence team and reports to the Manager of Media Strategy, Data, and Measurement. It is part of a developing capabilities in ADUSA and Peapod Digital Labs using data in marketing, advertising, and measurement.
Recipe for Success - What's "in store" for the role
Audience building: 1st point of contact for ADUSA and agency partner teams looking to use customer data in brand marketing
- Participate in data strategy discussions with brand and external agency teams, vetting and recommending 1st party audiences to address business problems and campaign briefs
- Create audience segments in our tech stack according to campaign needs, validate logic and confirm appropriate scale for targeting - automating processes where possible to improve accuracy and speed
- Partner with media execution teams to ensure effectiveness of audiences measurement through testing to then iterate and improve performance across campaigns
- Refine standard performance and testing processes and strategies to guide ADUSA brands and external agencies on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data
Measurement: Leverage audience and paid/addressable campaign exposure data in our Marketing tech stack to grow media and targeting performance
- Lead reporting on campaign exposure/overlap across brands and agencies to understand media efficiencies and improve targeting
- Use measurement tools (media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, A/B testing, etc.) to understand performance of individual audiences and build historical norms and standard methodologies across all brands
- Communicate insights and recommendations to drive action and inform media planning and business goals
Strategy: Proactively establish relationships across internal ADUSA teams and with external vendors - using their expertise and partnership to advance marketing technology initiatives
- Lead and grow brand/ agency relationships by learning about their business, responding to requests, and acting as a strategic partner
- Work with analytics teams to learn about our customers, how they engage with each brand, and identify the audience targeting opportunities
- Research and develop POVs to advance ADUSA's martech capabilities, and internal groups to put these plans in motion
- Identify the customer journey for each brand
The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in one of the following: planning, buying, or measuring digital paid/addressable media, customer analytics, website analytics
Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table
- Resourceful, curious, and motivated individual with an ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Experience with 1st party data targeting in marketing channels, data management platforms (DMP) / customer data platforms (CDP), or retail media
- Familiarity with relational database concepts and knowledge of SQL, or interest in learning basic SQL
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, and comfort working with large datasets
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to recognize patterns in data
- Able to learn and adapt to new tools and processes quickly
