About the Role:

Transfix is on an exciting growth path, and building a best-in-class marketing team will be critical to hitting our ambitious goals. Hosting a range of events (mostly in-person but some virtual) will be a large part of our strategy in engaging our customers (carriers and shippers). That’s why we are looking for an Events Manager to help make that happen! In this role, you will help create brand awareness, drive demand, and generate a pipeline through in-person and virtual events. You'll own event execution, from developing ideas and concepts to execution and follow-up. No boring days here! This role will sit within our Revenue Marketing team, partnering across many different areas of Transfix.

In this Role You Will:

  • Manage events of various sizes and formats from concept to implementation, both for Transfix sponsored and third party sponsored events (e.g. conferences, summits)
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop all pre-event and post-event campaigns to maximize attendance as well as follow-through/ROI 
  • Work with the broader marketing team to ensure events are profiled and marketed correctly through social channels as part of our demand generation strategy
  • Research and identify third party events and conferences aligned to our target market and make appropriate recommendations regarding participation aligned with our strategy
  • For our events, research and identify venues for events, field proposals, negotiate contracts, and compare costs to make decisions
  • In close collaboration with Sales, create and manage a comprehensive events calendar, managing all aspects of the events budgeting, planning, and execution process
  • Partner with vendors on banquet event orders, room blocks, audiovisual needs, etc.
  • Partner with our in-house design team to ensure timely delivery of invitations, website landing pages, signage, & other marketing materials
  • Manage and oversee events on the day of to ensure that they run flawlessly: direct and manage setup, welcome guests, address any issues, communicate with staff, and organize speakers, vendors, and partners
  • Gather feedback from cross-functional partners and evaluate all event outcomes to provide post-event ROI analysis
  • Create weekly status emails & attendee reports, and post-event briefing packs, including successes and areas for improvement
  • Coordinate & lead virtual events using Zoom & preferred vendors 
  • Be on-site for staffing in-person events; traveling as needed (20%)

You’re an Excellent Fit for this Role if You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in the event space, ideally developing, marketing, executing, and managing events from start to finish
  • Highly creative mindset - your worst nightmare is hosting an unmemorable event
  • Business-mind, with a desire to build events that deliver ROI 
  • Next-level organization and adaptability skills, with high-level attention to detail; you know that the details are what makes events memorable!
  • Uncanny ability to multitask. You can plan multiple events in parallel, and you often do your best work under pressure
  • The ability to articulate your vision, thoughts, and ideas clearly to various stakeholders at all levels and perspectives
  • The willingness to travel as needed for events (domestically)

What You can Expect from Transfix:

  • This role is primarily remote, however we are prioritizing candidates in New York, NY to support our in-person local events.
  • We are a salary between $90,000-$105,000 annually, depending on experience level, scope, and geographic location, as well as Restricted Stock Units (equity) in Transfix.
