This person will work with our agency partners and colleagues across Communications, Investor Relations, Government Affairs and Sustainability to create and execute an engagement program that will shape the external narrative on Danaher.Specific Responsibilities

• Lead media strategy and media relations for Danaher.
• Be the company spokesperson for media inquiries and issues management.
• Deliver a coordinated external relations program to reengage and educate key stakeholders - from background briefings to earned media, speaker platforms and owned events.
• Ensure the coordination of major external announcements across Danaher, our platforms, and our operating companies to maximize their impact.
• Prepare the C-suite and additional identified key spokespeople for external engagements.
• Anticipate external issues and partner with peers to deliver thoughtful proposals on our response.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create an integrated Communications program to consistently tell our "brand story" to all our target audiences.
• Accountable for the consistent, coherent, and compelling use of core key messages across all external engagements.
• Manage key agency relationships to maximize their impact on the business.
• Immerse yourself in Danaher, our culture, and the Danaher Business System.
• Ensure Danaher is benchmarking to excellence for external engagement by establishing and owning key metrics, plus full accountability for relevant budgets, media policies, and driving a consistent approach to media engagement.Your skills and experience
• 10+ years progressive external communications experience working in a high-growth, dynamic, global organization. In-house or agency experience in life sciences/healthcare will be prioritized.
• Natural understanding of the media and a demonstrable focus on/empathy for audience needs.
• Established top tier media relationships. Prior experience as a company spokesperson is ideal.
• Set a high bar for performance, drive continuous improvement, and foster collaboration.
• Track record of building strong and respected partnerships with senior executives to provide strategic counsel, media coaching and insight into best practices.
• Generated and executed unique story ideas in support of overall company strategy and/or external campaigns that have delivered measurable impact.
• Exquisite written skills with a focus on clarity, concision, and consistency.
• Analytical in nature with a focus on impact, not activity.
• Experience across key digital channels, with an understanding of paid-media strategies and content generation.Your character
