Role Description

Proactive, engaging, and transparent communication has never been more important than in this work-from-anywhere world. We are looking for an Internal Communications Director who will create and execute crucial communications plans and major employee touchpoints for the MuleSoft organization. You'll report to our Senior Director, Business Unit Communications and join a world-class Global Communications team of thought-leaders and innovators.

This is a highly-visible role where you'll make your mark on MuleSoft as you drive the team's creative culture by crafting innovative ways to align, inspire, and connect our employees. We're looking for a communicator to embody the concept that clarity is a gift as you simplify the sophisticated through storytelling for MuleSoft employees, Salesforce leaders, partners, and audiences across Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the MuleSoft executive team (eStaff) to create an internal communications strategy, informed by and aligned with MuleSoft's business objectives
  • Create an internal communications plan, including a content calendar and recommended channels, and deliver compelling and cohesive narratives to support MuleSoft initiatives.
  • Implement methodologies and innovative thinking, considering new uses for old channels, and the creation of new forms of communications, to ensure the right messages hit at the right time.
  • Establish voice that reinforces MuleSoft culture
  • Craft and execute the approach to MuleSoft's use of several communications tools including Slack, Quip, blogs, email, video, and Google slides.
  • Manage the narrative, content and production of key digital events (Zoom, Google Hangouts).
  • Drive awareness and alignment around global (or companywide) initiatives, helping Muleys cut through the noise and focus on what's most important.
  • Drive the production, execution and cadence of meetings and summits.
  • Develop content in support of executive communications.
  • Develop and manage content for MuleSoft's global monthly newsletter.
  • Ensure engagements and messaging fit within our unique MuleSoft culture, guided by the broader Salesforce values: Trust, Innovation, Customer Success, and Equality.
  • Contribute to other employee engagement initiatives, as needed.
  • Approach work with curiosity and continual learning.
  • Contribute expertise and findings on MuleSoft communications for alignment across the team.

Basic Requirements

  • Synthesis and accurate dissemination of information from a variety of sources in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Adept at communicating technology content given the sophisticated nature of our product and selling motion
  • Engaging writing and storytelling about complex concepts, a compelling narrative, and an emotional connection.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing.
  • Clear verbal communications and trust-based relationships to create messaging and narratives, using data and facts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and write quickly.
  • Willingness to take on projects big and small.
  • A commitment to MuleSoft values and building an inclusive culture.
  • Top-notch interpersonal skills.
  • Impeccable project management.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Video production experience a plus.

Preferred Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in employee communications, exec communications, or a related field, working in a high-tech and/or global organization.
