The Role
Reporting directly to the CMO, the Director of Corporate Communications will lead external communication efforts to build the Galileo brand name and generate demand through strategic and thoughtful outreach which includes media and public relations, executive communications, reputation management and social media. This role is also responsible for developing thought leadership content and partnering with Growth and Digital Marketing teams to develop impactful go-to-market and website content to help
accelerate the marketing funnel.

The Director of Corporate Communications role is a hands-on role with deep experience and relationships within financial technology, business, technology, and trade media to grow brand awareness of Galileo’s brand, technology, products and solutions, partnerships and key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
● Develop and lead Galileo communications strategy and plan collaborating with the Galileo internal communications team and SoFi corporate communications
team.

● Identify key industry trends, issues and news events that Galileo can leverage to grow brand recognition and create compelling narratives that drive earned media opportunities in national and trade media.

● Collaborate cross functionally to develop GTM and website content that supports campaigns and lead generation.

● Oversee and produce communications material including press releases, media briefs, bylined submissions, Q&As, presentations, thought leadership and GTM content creation.

● Serve as a subject matter expert and company spokesperson with press and external stakeholders.

● Help prepare key spokespeople for media interviews and speaking opportunities and provide media training as needed

● Develop and manage social media strategy and content partnerships to amplify awareness and accelerate lead generation.

● Assess the impact of communications programs using measurement tools

● Manage public relations agency, collaborate with B2B agency and lead team of 1-2 direct reports and freelancers as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements
● 8+ years experience in corporate communications, public relations, content development focused on financial technology, business and or financial services


● Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a talented writer who can adapt style for various content with ability to distill complex business issues and concepts into easily understood narratives and messages around business developments and trends


● Has established contacts in business, financial and trade media and well versed in developing content and narratives for financial technology, business and technology media


● Has a team mindset with ability to build strong relationships with a range of players including key executives, colleagues, media contacts and influencers

● Self-directed, proactive and possesses consistent good judgment and professionalism

● Demonstrated ability to manage broad strategy and ability to prioritize projects and workflow with in a dynamic, fast paced environment

● Track record of growing mindshare for company brands
