NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Lead and coordinate the Nike multi-regional communications teams' efforts to drive breakthrough storytelling across innovation, design, sport, digital services, and athletes, and achieve the best possible coverage for NIKE. Synthesize the company narrative strategy and global storylines into quarterly and annual communications strategies and plans that are prioritized and appropriate for the communications teams. Create strategies and tactics for journalists and content creators across sport, fashion, lifestyle, business, retail and sneaker culture for the territory communications teams to execute in each country. Manage a world class media relations and catalysts engagement strategy in service of the company narrative, owning managing a portfolio of relationships with influential stakeholders including media journalists, athletes, business partners, catalysts, industry coalitions and collaborators. Responsible for ongoing monitoring, tracking, and impact assessment of the narrative messages driven in collaboration with the NIKE teams, with the goal of driving positive consumer reputation results. Act as a NIKE spokesperson at key territory events and brand moments, driving the correct enterprise narrative amongst the media and key audiences. Oversee the management of relevant PR agency relationships, writers, editors, photographers, creatives, freelancers, and other external partners streamlining the contractors' sourcing, onboarding, work assignments and payments. Manage critical business issues, mitigate risks, and provide guidance in partnership of corporate governance and public affairs to protect the brand. Serve as strategic communications advisor to business leaders and teams to advance the company's narrative and reputation. Manage the function's financials operating within budget and in alignment with strategy and oversee the regional communications spending and investments to meet profit goals. Up to 30% international travel required.

Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Journalism or Communications and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include:

  • Issues management and crisis communications;
  • Metrics and analytics;
  • Budget management;
  • Publishing and editorial;
  • Agency Management;
  • Asset creation;
  • Event production
