  • Researching media opportunities, developing and retaining networks with industry journalists at both mainstream and specialist media outlets
  • Working with the wider team and other internal stakeholders to identify newsworthy opportunities
  • Working with internal stakeholders to build a pool of company spokespeople, ensuring aligned messaging, advising on media relations training, and identifying opportunities to speak to and influence core areas
  • Managing the tracking and reporting on corporate media activity

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • A finely-tuned ability to spot a good story, being able to evaluate complex content, make links between different opportunities, and uncover the media angle
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, skillfully delivering engaging press releases which are written in line with wider business objectives
  • Highly developed organizational skills, with the ability to professionally handle multiple stakeholder communications, networks, and channels, whilst prioritizing different tasks
  • An enthusiastic, motivated approach with a willingness to support other members of the team when required, and applying initiative and common sense to problem-solve
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to present information to a variety of stakeholders, build effective relationships, and use them to influence and negotiate diplomatically
  • Ability to gather and analyze data to inform activity and make effective evidence-based decisions that support wider organizational goals
  • A high degree of understanding of media relations best practice and current trends, and the ability to apply this to everyday working
