Job Description Web Execution SEO Front End Web Developer

About Web Execution: The Web Execution team operates as an internal agency within the Corporate Marketing department. The Corporate Marketing department is responsible for branding, advertising and strategy for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC) and oversees the J.P. Morgan (JPM) brand. The Web Execution team supports Corporate Responsibility, the Foundation, and The Institute among other corporate functions, including multiple JPMC digital channels (jpmorganchase.com, jpmorgan.com, etc.) .
Position summary:
The SEO Front End Web Developer will report to the Technology Manager of Web Execution, JPMC's internal digital agency. Primary responsibility will be to work with the team to define SEO strategy, and coach the development team in implementation. In addition, this role is responsible for implementation of the Front-end Experience for Web Execution, assisting with all projects and delivering quality UX experiences. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX design team and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
Responsibilities

  • SEO
    • Collaborate with SEO partners across marketing teams, relationship managers, and the Strategy/Analytics/Testing team to help develop comprehensive SEO strategy
    • Develop optimization strategies that increase the company's search engine results rankings
    • Advise business stakeholders on optimizing page components for SEO impact
    • Advise development team on best practices for page build, QC, delivery and governance
  • Web UI development
    • Building user interfaces for our digital properties through Adobe Experience Manager and/or latest HTML frameworks, such as React
    • Working from supplied wire frames and functional requirements to interpret existing design elements and build web interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and work with technology teams to integrate with back-end systems.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving cross-browser and cross-platform support issues.
    • Optimizing web sites for maximum speed and scalability
    • Managing day-to-day efforts to ensure smooth & efficient website updates including production updates, trafficking assets, code changes, and collaborating on new initiatives
    • Working with IT/Development teams for build projects - requirements gathering and ongoing maintenance of all websites
    • Collaborating with other front and back-end Developers
    • Remaining current with the latest digital design trends and tools
    • Handling production work, as needed, to meet project deadlines
  • Collaboration with design, business analyst, project management, and content production teams
    • Collaborating with marketing, digital strategy and designers to ensure design quality and consistency of web pages.
    • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
    • Liaising with design teams to manage requirements and delivery of all website assets
    • Assisting with requirements definition, specifications, design, development and timelines for key initiatives
    • Collaborating on project management of key initiatives as needed
    • Assisting with the conceptualization and development of cross-platform design that meets the high demands and requirements of the business as needed
    • Collaborating with Copywriter, Program Manager, Platform Manager, Creative Services, Marketing, Sales, Legal and Compliance
    • Collaborating with marketing and design to develop and launch A/B tests.


Recommended Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in SEO
    • Two to three years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns
    • Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
    • Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools
    • Comfortable analyzing high volumes of data
  • Strong foundation in front end web development
    • HTML5 (required)
    • CSS3 (required) and CSS pre-processors (SASS/Less preferred)
    • JavaScript (ES6+ required, JQuery and/or TypeScript a plus)
    • Experience with MVC or MVVC architecture
    • Familiarity with web frame works such as React or Vue
    • Asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
    • Experience with modern web styling frameworks (Bootstrap preferred)
    • Experience with Node.js and Webpack based workflows
    • Solid understanding of responsive design
  • Experience with web site optimization
    • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and quirks
    • Knowledge of optimizing graphics for different platforms
    • Good understanding of SEO principles
    • Experience adhering to ADA WCAG 2.1 AA compliance (required)
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (Adobe Experience Manager 6.x preferred)
    • HTML Templating Language (HTL) and Sightly
    • Component development
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git, BitBucket preferred)
  • Proven success working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
    • Ability to manage multiple, on-going timelines, as well as ad-hoc "rush" requests
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing design requirements
    • Outstanding attention to detail
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with audiences across all levels
