Job Description Wholesale Payments Market & Competitor Insights Associate
Location - Jersey City, Plano, Scottsdale, Tampa
The Intelligence and Competitor Insights Associate for Merchant Services will manage two work streams - Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence
Our clients want to hear J.P. Morgan's perspective on the latest trends and how we can help them prepare for the future of payments. The Associate will uncover, investigate and synthesize key trends in payments to support sales and product teams with deep insights.
The Associate will also track competitive news and develop analyses for executive, product, and sales colleagues.
More than simply reporting on competitive trends, the Associate will determine what those trends mean for J.P. Morgan and the payments industry overall. This aspect of the role affords the ability to gain a deep understanding of payments across multiple dimensions.
The ideal candidate should have a consultative and strategic approach to research, and the ability to synthesize relevant information from diverse areas. A successful candidate in this role would be curious, a deep listener, and have the ability to communicate insights and recommendations effectively.
Specific Responsibilities:• Monitor and understand key trends in the payments market at a global and regional level• Develop trends materials for sales and business development colleagues to present to clients and prospects• Identify key competitive actions and develop analyses with input from colleagues across the organization• Build scalable process and deliver actionable insights across Merchant Services• Provide sophisticated research and analysis on market and competitive trends to inform J.P. Morgan's roadmap and business strategy.• Work in a collaborative/collegial environment with Global Strategic Intelligence, Marketing, Proposals and research professionals in other LOBs to build synergies and holistic packaging of the findings.
Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years experience in payments, strategy or related experience.• Executive presence: sales, product and other business executives, ability to communicate concisely and effectively in a logical way, the relevant market intelligence verbally or through writing summaries of reports and presentations.• Ability to effectively listen, read between the lines to connect the dots and understand about explicit and implicit the business needs and objectives of various stakeholders• A desire to do whatever it takes to solve complex problems.
