This role will be categorized as hybrid (50% remote; 50% onsite)

Pratt & Whitney (based in East Hartford, CT) is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Communications team. Reporting directly to the VP & Chief Communications Officer, the Communications Program Manager will lead high- impact Communications and company initiatives while supporting the Communications executive team.

The Communications Program Manager facilitates communication and the flow of critical information between Communications leadership, key stakeholders and the broader Communications community. He/she will serve as lead for a variety of crucial initiatives, providing comprehensive research, analysis and leadership to ensure timely and flawless execution and alignment to P&W and RTX business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the CoEs leads, manage communications strategy and initiatives for the Office of the President
  • Develop and manage the communications strategy for the Transformation & Strategy Office
  • Act as principal liaison between the Communications vice president, leadership team, Communications team members and internal business partners to obtain required data, coordinate activities and to ensure the timely completion of initiatives and assignments
  • Compile and analyze information and data, prepare reports and develop formalized presentations to assist the vice president in preparation for strategy planning, meetings and other engagements
  • Manage and perform a wide variety of special assignments to support the vice president in meeting business obligations and adjusting as priorities change and projects evolve
  • Manage multiple ongoing responsibilities, including all hands meetings, meeting agendas, regular cadence of communications to the global team, weekly communications for the Office of the President and various assignments in support of the leadership team by guiding the executive administrative assistant
  • Oversee the budget, staffing and resource management processes by guiding the business manager; manage the RTX CLP process and supervise, coach, develop and coordinate assignments for the Communications interns by working with the CoE leads
  • In coordination with the CoE leads, work closely with and provide oversight and guidance to the CORE Communications focals to operationalize the tools and processes within the global Communications team
  • In coordination with the CoE leads, organize training and development programs for the Communications team; serve as team's liaison with Gartner as a provider of SME expertise, resources and training



Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; preferred fields include Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of Communications experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working across organizational levels: guiding colleagues, supervising staff and counseling executives
  • Self-starter who is resourceful and takes initiative
  • Strong writing and communications skills
  • Positive team player with an enthusiastic work ethic
  • Must be detail-oriented; possess executive presence, maturity and judgment
  • Capable of working efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage projects, coordinate multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously and autonomously, and work well under deadline pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that allow one to proactively anticipate requirements and potential problems
  • Ability to take initiative, suggest solutions, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with the most recent versions of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft O265 and Teams
