Job Title:

Analyst, Global Strategic Marketing

Job Description:

The Analyst, Global Strategic Marketing is responsible for managing global market data and resources, conducting market research and developing and executing a range of focused Strategic organic and inorganic initiatives supporting Allison growth. This person works closely with Allison Cross functional product line teams and represents the Global Marketing, Sales and Service organization in these venues. This role involves providing market research and information to support internal decision making.

As an integral member of the Global Strategic Marketing team, the Global Market Analyst will:

  • Manage Allison's global market data, resources and vendors
  • Manage and consult strategic market research projects, including but not limited to Segmentation Studies, Voice of Customer Surveys and Product Positioning Studies.
  • Perform analysis and interpretation of primary and secondary research data relating to our markets, segments, and competitors. Make recommendations based on the analysis. Coordinate with Allison resources globally.
  • Manage projects from inception through presentation: supporting customized surveys/discussion, analyzing data, interpreting results and providing actionable insights from primary and secondary research.
  • Develop marketing proposals for review with Executive Staff, APRG and APPG.
  • Participate as a member of industry associations, relative to market research activities.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and product teams to understand research needs and then identify and manage appropriate outside vendors to meet those needs-Present market data to product and marketing teams.
  • Analysis of internal sales and customer data to look for trends.
  • Competitive analysis: keeping up to date on competitor's financial performance and strategic moves. Support Competitive Intelligence Team
  • Represent Allison Global MSS on Product Line Teams in support of global market and regulatory trends/requirements
  • Lead Other studies as determined by management.
  • Conduct internal and external studies to identify opportunities to utilize data collected from connected vehicles.
  • Consolidate, analyze, present, and recommend visualization techniques to support Allison initiatives.



REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years industrial, marketing or commercial experience.
  • Excellent command of English language for writing/editing/proofreading
  • Strong ability with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common research and technical documents
  • Effective in presenting information to top management and peers
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at the same time
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • High level of organization
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to global time differences in meeting schedules and event timing
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint at an intermediate


PREFERRED:

  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • Engineering Degree coupled with Marketing Degree
  • Financial experience to support business case development
  • Global experience or a global perspective
  • Experience with Market Research
  • Experience in Commercial vehicle markets with successful track record.
  • Technical knowledge of Allison products.
  • Additional language skills
