What is a Marketing Traffic Manager?

A Marketing Traffic Manager controls, oversees, and maintains the workflow of marketing projects to ensure they are completed on time, on brief, and according to brand guidelines—in this case, those of Ingram Micro. This role is crucial for bringing order to the often fast-paced and high-volume environment of marketing and creative work.

Marketing Traffic Manager is the operational backbone of a marketing team. By adding structure and clarity to the project workflow, they enable creative professionals to focus on their strengths while ensuring marketing campaigns and deliverables stay on track, meet objectives, and are delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Intake & Planning: Manages incoming project requests, assigns teams, and creates schedules.
  • Workflow Management: Guides projects through each phase of the marketing process, ensuring timely action at every step.
  • Process Development: Builds and refines processes to streamline workflows and increase efficiency across a wide variety of project types.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Acts as the liaison between creative teams, account managers, clients, and other internal teams.
  • Prioritization & Resource Management: Handles over 300 projects monthly by strategically negotiating priorities based on client needs and marketing plans.
  • Meetings & Updates: Hosts regular traffic meetings to track progress and align teams on deadlines and deliverables.

  • Strong Communicator & Collaborator: Balances the needs of creatives and requesters, often navigating conflicting priorities with diplomacy.
  • Accountability Leader: Keeps teams on track by setting expectations, requesting updates, and ensuring follow-through without micromanaging.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Creative agency workflow, culture, roles, and team function
  • Departmental workflow process disciplines
  • Work independently with general supervision
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume department
  • Think strategically
  • Communicate effectively
  • Work with other departments to maintain the highest levels of mutual productivity and diplomacy
  • Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Three to five years’ experience in agency traffic management, project management or related discipline • Marketing agency experience preferred

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,800.00 - $130,900.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
