Are you a passionate marketing professional with an interest in technologies that are changing the world? Do you get excited about connecting communities through world-class live events and digital experiences?
If so, we want you to join our team as a Marketing Specialist for Geo Week and Geo Week News!
As our Marketing Specialist, you'll be a driving force behind the campaigns, content, and experiences that bring the geospatial world together. From executing multi-channel marketing strategies to creating content that is visually compelling for social media, coordinating onsite event logistics, and supporting lead generation efforts, you'll help shape how professionals across the industry engage with Geo Week and Geo Week News.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Execute multi-channel marketing strategies in support of the Senior Marketing Manager, including campaigns across email, social media, print, digital advertising, press and website content — all designed to drive event registration, exhibit and digital sales, and lead generation goals.
- Create and maintain compelling content across all platforms — from social media videos and posts and email campaigns to website updates and onsite signage — while ensuring consistent branding and messaging across every touchpoint.
- Support lead generation and digital marketing efforts by collaborating with the inbound digital team and editors on PPC, paid social, content marketing, and the development of lead gen assets including landing pages, forms, emails, and creative promotional advertisements.
- Coordinate event marketing deliverables including sponsorship fulfillment, exhibitor resources, staging and signage, printed show materials, and the onsite mobile app experience — ensuring every detail is executed on time and on brand.
- Analyze and optimize performance using dashboards and analytics tools to track campaign results, inform strategy, and ensure continuous improvement across all marketing initiatives.
- Support budget management, timelines, and workflows by tracking marketing schedules, processing invoices, tracking jobs with central services teams, and identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and cross-team collaboration.
- Support the sales team by executing digital sponsored deliverables, media kit development, prospect outreach, communicating marketing opportunities to exhibitors, and ensuring a seamless experience for sponsors and partners from contract to onsite experience.
- Manage social media profiles, engagement and growth across Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X, while exploring emerging platforms and innovative engagement tactics like referral programs, video content, and animated graphics.
- Experience & Education: 4+ years of marketing experience, preferably in events or B2B marketing. A background in or passion for the geospatial/tech industry or related fields is a plus.
- Creative & Content Expertise: Strong promotional copywriting skills and the ability to craft engaging messaging across diverse channels while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Digital Marketing Savvy: Hands-on experience with WordPress or similar CMS, email automation platforms (Marketo preferred), Google Analytics, social media platforms, Canva, Wave or similar creative tools. PPC and paid social experience is a plus.
- Project Management Excellence: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative Spirit: A true team player who communicates clearly, works seamlessly across departments — including sales, editorial, conference, and operations teams — and is flexible enough to pivot when priorities shift.
- Innovation Mindset: Eager to explore new engagement strategies, test creative ideas, and bring fresh thinking to how Geo Week connects with its community.
- Comfort with Emerging Technology: Familiarity with GenAI tools and a curiosity about how they can improve everyday marketing workflows is a plus — we're seeking someone who is open to exploring new technologies to work smarter and more efficiently.
- Grounded in the Details: Comfortable rolling up your sleeves for the full spectrum of day-to-day tasks that keep a busy event and media brand running — from monitoring emails and reviewing data reports to editing copy, supporting customer inquiries, and tackling the behind-the-scenes work that makes the big moments possible.
Travel: Required 1–2 times per year for live events.
