The Quality Assessments Division at Smithers is hiring a full-time Marketing Specialist to join our team!
The Marketing Specialist for the Information Security Services (ISS) department is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of marketing initiatives that support business growth and sales objectives. This role manages website and social media content, develops and executes email marketing campaigns, and monitors website performance and SEO strategies to improve online visibility and engagement.
Key responsibilities include identifying target customer segments, generating qualified leads, implementing direct email and social media marketing strategies, and analyzing campaign performance to optimize results. The Marketing Specialist collaborates closely with sales and technical teams to create compelling marketing content, strengthen brand awareness, and drive customer acquisition within the information security services market.
Duties:
- Writes and edits literature, newsletters, presentations, and web-based marketing projects.
- Monitors website analytics and adjusts sites and SEO/AEO to affect positive changes to web performance.
- Coordinates customer events and trade show activities including pre- and post-show marketing as well as on-site details.
- Supports PR efforts through content development, aggregation, and delivery.
- Utilizes outside sources as well as internet research to acquire, filter, and create email marketing lists for use in monthly marketing activities.
- Collaborates with global marketing teams to identify opportunities to improve local marketing performance.
- Ensures that all locally developed creative marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines.
- Creates dashboard-style reports to show marketing effectiveness through KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and standard ROI metrics.
- Identify target buyer personas and initiate contact through telephone sales, direct e-mail and social networking.
- Meet daily and weekly outbound telephone activity metrics in support of lead generation and conversion-to-win goals.
- Timely follow-up on websites, phone and referral inquiries.
- Utilize the sales process for any wins from the initial point of client contact through to the start of delivery of work.
- Consistent and accurate entry of all lead/prospect contact information and maintenance of funnel valuations into the CRM database.
Qualifications:
- Requires a BA/BS degree or equivalent in marketing or business administration.
- 3-5 years of previous marketing and sales experience.
- Familiar with the marketing communications process, having worked with agencies and in-house creative staff in past work experience.
- Familiar with marketing automation platforms such as Sugar, HubSpot, or Marketo.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems (Infor, Salesforce.com, Goldmine or similar).
- Familiar with web editing (HTML programming not necessary, but helpful), SEO and AEO techniques.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exposure/Knowledge of web metrics systems (Google Analytics, email marketing metrics).
- Experience with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, as well as other marketing-focused AI tool sets).
- Experience in marketing technical services would be preferred but not required.
