Job Title: Marketing Specialist, Australia & New Zealand (ANZ)

Department - Marketing

Reports to Senior Marketing Manager

Location - Melbourne Australia

Job summary

Support the Senior Marketing Manager in planning and executing regional marketing activities aligned with the APMEA marketing strategy for the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) markets. This role is ideal for a motivated marketing professional looking to build on foundational skills and develop expertise in a fast-paced environment. The position encompasses tasks such as:

  • Assisting in the development and coordination of a regional-specific marketing plan, aimed at key markets and audiences in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), applying an understanding of regional channels, opportunities, and products.
  • Supporting the delivery and execution of marketing activities that are strategically aligned, on brand, timely, within budget, and effective, meeting business goals to enhance revenue growth and competitive positioning.
  • Aiding in managing marketing activities and resources to achieve regional marketing objectives effectively.
  • Providing basic regional insights and support, particularly focused on prioritised cities and regions.

Specific responsibilities

Marketing Planning & Execution

  • Under the guidance of the Senior Marketing Manager assist in the development and implementation of the regional marketing plan, ensuring it aligns with the overall ANZ commercial strategy.
  • Help maintain the marketing calendar and budget, ensuring all activities are tracked and on schedule.
  • Coordinate marketing briefs and task allocation for regional campaigns and ad hoc projects.

Collaboration & Asset Management

  • Work with colleagues in the APMEA and Global Marketing teams to adapt and localise global assets for the ANZ region.
  • Support the collection and analysis of marketing activity metrics to assess effectiveness and report findings to the Senior Management team.

Social Media Management

  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of content for Herman Miller & MillerKnoll social channels.
  • Review the global social media calendar and adjust relevant posts for the ANZ region.
  • Compile basic monthly social media performance reports.

Website & Lead Management

  • Coordinate homepage updates for ANZ regional sites.
  • Assist with the allocation of inbound website leads to the Sales team through Salesforce.
  • Collect and manage leads from marketing activities, ensuring they are properly reported and tracked.

Campaign Support

  • Contribute to the execution of marketing campaigns and projects, aligning with regional priorities and KPIs set by the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Provide support for regional events and ensure campaign deliverables meet project timelines.

PR & Case Studies

  • Identify and support regional PR opportunities in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Assist with the development of basic case studies, including data collection and interviews as needed.

Sales Support

  • Provide basic support for ad hoc requests from the sales team and attend meetings to understand how to best assist.

Job holder requirements

Education and experience

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Fluent English – written and oral

Preferred:

  • Marketing experience 3 years minimum
  • Experience as a marketing specialist within a global organisation
  • Commercial experience

Competences

Essential:

  • Strong project management skills – understanding the theories of project management and knowing how to use them efficiently
  • Strong prioritisation skills – demonstrating the ability to decide which tasks are most important based on the size, scope and timeliness of each task
  • Process oriented and driven
  • Excellent and rigorous planner
  • Strong communication skills – Written/Verbal
  • Attentive to details, as well as the bigger picture
  • Understanding of full marketing mix
  • Can prepare written information in a manner appropriate to purpose, situation and audience
  • Can use Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Can organise own time and work activities

Preferred:

  • Strong Analytical skills – having the ability to deconstruct information into smaller categories in order to draw conclusions.
  • Has experience in using digital marketing tools, such as Pardot
  • Has experience in using SalesForce
  • Experience of B2B marketing and ideally channel marketing
  • Presentations to small or large groups, internal / external
  • Commercial acumen, understanding of sales environment, processes and channels
  • Has an understanding of Miller Knoll marketplace and customer base
