We’re now in search of a Marketing Specialist on a 4-Month contract to help tell this story – the story of these exceptional experiences at Upper Canada Mall (UCM) and Hillcrest Mall (HM). Reporting to the Marketing Manager at Hillcrest Mall, you will be part of a team of inspired marketers and brand-builders that collaborate and execute on industry-leading initiatives. As a key member of the property team, you will work closely with the centre’s management and national marketing teams to support marketing & communications for UCM and HM.

Please note that this position will be split between two properties: Upper Canada Mall (2-days) and Hillcrest Mall (3-days).

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Support the Marketing Manager in executing the annual marketing plan.

  • Work with and coordinate various property initiatives in collaboration with UCM and HM’s Marketing Manager and Management Team.

  • Monitor Brand QA on website, social and email.

  • Coordinate printing & design of all onsite centre signage, ensuring all customer-facing touchpoints deliver a holistic and integrated brand experience

  • Support the Marketing Manager with execution of local marketing initiatives that are relevant to shoppers and drive traffic, dwell time, retail sales and market share.

  • Collect and update data for internal and external marketing collateral, including updating library of images. Acts as liaison to suppliers for images and creative needs.

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to build community relations through the on-going support of key local events, non-profit organizations, and business groups to maintain visibility of the property and to promote the shopping centre(s) as a good corporate and community citizen.

  • Monitor comments and respond to all social media channels during regular business hours and escalate crisis comments as required.

  • Coordinate the process with professional photographers & videographers and assist the Marketing Manager with taking onsite photos and videos for social media and other promotional materials.

  • Provide additional support to the Marketing Manager as needed (eg: vacation coverage, posting IG Stories, assist with sourcing blog images, etc)

  • Provide ongoing management and updates to UCM and HM’s website, including executing home page updates, events & promos, job postings, retailer updates, and blog posts.

  • Supports Marketing Manager in execution of gift card tactics for property or national programs.

  • Coordinate communication with tenants for marketing outreach and support, including prizing, merchandise pulls, tenant surveys, and internal shopping centre memos.

  • Maintain all monthly marketing and event reports, files, and folders

  • Support the Marketing Manager with tracking the annual marketing budget and analytics

  • Perform administrative duties such as; filing, invoicing, monthly reporting, maintaining documents, databases and other tasks as required.

  • May be required to work on weekends and evenings as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2-5 years of marketing and/or communications experience

  • College diploma/bachelor's degree in marketing (advertising/public relations), communications or other relevant education and experience

  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify new opportunities to generate new & relevant customer experiences

  • Excellent time and project management skills with strong attention to detail and well-organized

  • Fundamental knowledge of digital marketing, social media & content trends that will drive audience engagement & growth

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • A customer-first mindset, excellent at building & maintaining relationships

  • Previous shopping centre or retail experience considered an asset

  • Aptitude to embrace change and welcome new approaches in an exceedingly evolving, fast-paced environment

The expected salary range for this position is $62,000 - $72,000 per year.
