Mpls.St.Paul Magazine is in search of a Marketing Operations Intern to help operate our annual Best of the Twin Cities Readers’ Poll and support additional Sales and Marketing projects.
Job Description: The paid position ($16.37/hour) is 12–15 hours per week and offers a hands-on opportunity to support one of the magazine’s largest annual initiatives. This role will help operate the Best of the Twin Cities Readers’ Poll from start to finish, including nominations, voting, winner coordination, and award fulfillment. Interns will develop skills in project coordination, marketing, data management, and communication while getting an inside look at the workings of a print magazine and digital publishing platform. This position reports to the Marketing Manager.
Internship Dates: This hybrid internship will run from early October through May.
Your Role:
- Operate the day-to-day logistics of the Best of the Twin Cities Readers’ Poll.
- Organize and maintain nomination, voting, business, and winner data.
- Assist with poll setup, testing, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate winner communications, awards, and deliveries.
- Keep project timelines and deliverables organized throughout the poll cycle.
- Assist with miscellaneous Sales and Marketing projects as needed.
Requirements
- Junior standing or above preferred, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or a related field.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, especially when balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and interest in magazines, marketing, and the Twin Cities business community.
- CRM or email marketing experience is helpful but not required.
