Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.  

We are looking for a Marketing Operations and Events Manager to join our Brand & Marketing Team.

The Marketing Operations Manager is responsible for optimising the efficiency, scalability, and performance of the marketing function and event execution. Acting as the operational backbone of the marketing team, the Marketing Operations Manager ensures alignment between marketing strategy and execution and event execution excellence. The responsibilities of the role sit across four key areas:

1) Marketing Planning & Operations

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing plan, milestones and OKRs, collaborating with the team, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and Cuscal’s strategic priorities
  • Ownership and management of the marketing calendar, tracking deliverables and ensuring alignment with Team OKRs and strategic milestone.
  • Establish and manage a structured marketing “front door” and work approval process that enables prioritisation, resource allocation, and seamless coordination of work across the marketing team, ensuring alignment with Cuscal’s strategic objectives and exceptional delivery standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional planning with Client Partnership Managers, Business Development, and Product teams to ensure cohesive execution of marketing initiatives
  • Leverage AI and process improvement, to centralise and/or eliminate administrative tasks.

2) Performance Tracking

  • Deliver regular performance reports to leadership on; channel effectiveness; highlighting ROI, engagement metrics, and strategic insights.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for marketing effectiveness, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimisation across marketing programs and reporting systems.
  • Lead execution of the Client Satisfaction Survey and report creation, leading the engagement with agency and coordinating with key stakeholders internally.

3) Event Management & Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute B2B marketing events including conferences, webinars, trade shows, and client roundtables.
  • Own the events calendar and execution roadmap, driving consistency, impact, and stakeholder engagement across all event touchpoints.
  • Drive impactful marketing partner relationships and sponsorship deals
  • Collaborating and aligning with Client Partnership Managers, Business Development Managers and other key stakeholders on the events calendar and approach

4) Budget Management

  • Monitor and track marketing spend across vendors, platforms, and internal initiatives, providing regular financial reports and variance analysis to leadership
  • Lead and improve annual and quarterly budget planning and monthly budget reporting for marketing operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and resource allocation across campaigns, events, and tools. Oversee merchandise inventory and distribution budgets and approach.
  • Manage and improve marketing processes and approaches for payment workflows and approvals, ensuring timely processing of invoices, contract compliance, and reconciliation with finance teams

About You: 

You’re a systems-minded marketing professional with proven experience driving operational efficiency, performance tracking, and B2B event execution. You bring a structured, data-informed approach to managing marketing workflows, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Proven experience in senior marketing operations or strategic marketing roles, ideally within financial services or regulated industries.
  • Excellent financial acumen, disciplined and responsible manager of budgets, approval process, financial administration and team coordination to plan and match activity to plan.
  • Strong background in performance tracking, including building dashboards, defining KPIs, and delivering insights to senior leadership.
  • Experience in performance analysis including experience metrics and preparing presentations/reports for various audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing annual marketing plans and managing cross-functional marketing workflow, aligned to organisational strategic objectives.
