SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills and expertise toward achieving organizational goals. Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester, and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need. Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco, Texas. The Magnolia Marketing Intern reports to the Senior Manager of Divisional Marketing, Retail and Integrated Marketing and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in execution of seasonal marketing buildouts - including Magnolia’s food entities and experiential retail spaces - with on-site support for installation walkthroughs, signage execution, and activation coordination 
  • Assist in documenting buildouts and activations, pulling light performance data, and compiling findings for internal recaps and cross-functional shareouts in partnership with your supervisor 
  • Support creative and operational workflows for key marketing placements, including billboard updates and on-site signage 
  • Partner with the social team to support relevant storytelling opportunities across retail and Brand Experience business units 
  • Engage in cross-department learning - from warehouse and planning workflows to creative development and launch execution 
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to understand the full lifecycle of retail and integrated marketing initiatives 
  • Support projects assigned by internship supervisor, ensuring deliverables meet required deadlines 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to understand priorities, requirements, and integrated workflows 
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times 
  • Communicate clearly and proactively to support cohesive team execution 
  • Participate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semester   
  • Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be a college junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (up to two years post grad)  
  • Must be available to work 15-25 hours weekly for the duration of the internship program 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
