Position Summary

The Marketing & Customer Engagement Manager leads the strategy and execution of integrated marketing initiatives that drive store traffic, sales growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement. This role blends retail marketing, promotions, digital marketing, community engagement, and social media management to position the store as a the destination for natural foods and wellness.

The Marketing & Customer Engagement Manager collaborates closely with store leadership and department managers to develop promotions, events, and campaigns that increase foot traffic, customer loyalty, and basket size while reinforcing the company’s mission and brand values.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports revenue growth, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
  • Maintain and evolve the store’s brand identity, messaging, and visual standards across all channels.
  • Manage an annual marketing calendar aligned with merchandising, seasonal campaigns, and community events.
  • Identify new marketing opportunities that increase store visibility and customer traffic.
  • Analyze campaign results and adjust strategy based on performance and customer insights.

Promotions & Retail Traffic Growth

  • Plan and execute storewide promotional campaigns designed to increase foot traffic and sales.
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop product promotions, seasonal campaigns, and featured merchandise initiatives.
  • Coordinate in-store events, product demos, tastings, and educational classes that create engaging customer experiences.
  • Design and manage in-store signage, displays, and promotional messaging to support merchandising efforts.
  • Ensure marketing programs directly support traffic growth, basket size, and customer retention.

Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Manage the company’s social media strategy and content calendar across relevant platforms.
  • Create engaging digital content including photos, short-form video, stories, and promotions.
  • Monitor and respond to customer engagement, comments, and messages.
  • Oversee email marketing, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
  • Track digital performance metrics and optimize campaigns accordingly.

Content, Advertising & Communications

  • Oversee the creation of marketing assets including:
  • Promotional materials
  • Flyers and in-store signage
  • Event promotions
  • Email campaigns
  • Website content
  • Social media content
  • Manage relationships with creative vendors, agencies, and media partners.
  • Coordinate local advertising, PR opportunities, and media outreach.
  • Ensure messaging consistently reflects the company’s mission, values, and community focus.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Lead community marketing initiatives, partnerships, and sponsorships.
  • Build relationships with local organizations, vendors, and wellness professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to position the store as a community hub for health, food, and sustainability.
  • Represent the organization at local events and community initiatives when appropriate.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise marketing team members.
  • Provide clear direction, priorities, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and accountable team culture.
  • Manage marketing schedules, project timelines, and department workflow.

Success in this role will be measured by performance against key marketing metrics, including:

Retail Performance

  • Increase in store foot traffic

Requirements

Experience

Education
