About RenewCO2

RenewCO2 makes carbon-negative chemicals and fuels. Our electrocatalytic CO2 utilization technology runs on electricity, water, and waste CO2, and the product drops straight into existing industrial supply chains. Because the process is energy-efficient, our cost structure competes with fossil-derived incumbents rather than relying on a green premium.

We are venture-backed, and we have won grant funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, DARPA, the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology, and Breakthrough Energy, among others. The technology is demonstrated at pilot scale with customers, and we are now building toward commercial scale.

The company started in the United States, where most of our R&D is executed, while product development and manufacturing happen in India.

Our customers are chemical, fuel, and materials producers across Asia, Europe, and North and Latin America. Your work has to hold up for a procurement team in Rotterdam, a process engineer in Houston, and a plant manager in Gujarat, not just one of them.

This role is based in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, at Ohmium International, which builds green hydrogen electrolyzers at a gigafactory there. RenewCO2 has a joint development agreement with Ohmium: working beside a partner that already makes electrochemical stacks at volume shortens our path to manufacturing at scale.

The role

You will be our first marketing hire in India, and you will own marketing execution: what we say, where we say it, and whether the market takes us seriously. This is a build job. There is no playbook waiting for you, no large budget to hide behind, and no agency doing the thinking.

Our buyers are chemical producers, fuel producers, industrial gas companies, EPC contractors, and licensors. They make eight-figure decisions slowly, with a technical committee in the room. Adjectives do nothing for them. Defensible numbers do. Your job is to make RenewCO2 legible to that audience, and to make a small team read as the serious technology company it is.

You will work with a Brand & Marketing Designer, hiring in parallel, and directly with technical and commercial leadership in the U.S.

What you will do

Positioning and messaging

• Own the messaging architecture: what RenewCO2 is, what problem each product line solves, why our approach wins on cost and energy efficiency, and what we can and cannot claim today.

• Turn technical and techno-economic material into arguments that hold up in front of a process engineer and a CFO in the same meeting.

• Track adjacent CO2 conversion, power-to-X, and low-carbon chemical players, and feed what you learn back into positioning and commercial strategy.

Content

• Run the content calendar: technical posts, bylined articles, case notes, explainers, LinkedIn, newsletters.

• Write and place bylines and interviews in the trade press our buyers actually read, across chemicals, energy, hydrogen, aviation fuel, and polymers.

• Write and submit award applications, and handle analyst and industry-database relationships.

Website and digital

• Run the website as a commercial asset: information architecture, copy, publishing cadence, on-page SEO, conversion paths. You will publish changes yourself in the CMS with the designer rather than file tickets with an agency.

• Run LinkedIn as our main organic and paid channel, plus targeted email.

• Set up the measurement layer and keep it honest: GA4, CRM hygiene, UTM discipline. Report on what produces qualified conversations and what does not.

Events and conferences

• Own the conference program: which events we attend and why, abstract and speaking submissions against deadlines, booth briefs, pre-show outreach, meeting scheduling, follow-up, and reporting against cost. You coordinate events from here. Our technical and commercial leadership covers the floor.

• Prepare our spokespeople with slides, talk tracks, likely questions, and clear boundaries on what is public.

Commercial and investor support

• Build what the commercial team needs: capability decks, product one-pagers, technical FAQs, objection handling, and customer-specific versions of the pitch.

• Support fundraising and partner diligence with investor-grade material, working with the CEO and CTO.

• Coordinate joint communications with partners, including anything tied to the Ohmium joint development agreement, with written approval on both sides.

Team, vendors, and budget

• Manage and art-direct the Brand & Marketing Designer. Brief and manage outside vendors: PR support, translators, printers, exhibit builders, videographers.

• Own the marketing budget and report on spend and return each quarter.

Required qualifications

• Five to seven years in B2B marketing, at least three of them marketing something technical: process technology, capital equipment, specialty chemicals, energy, industrial hardware. Consumer, D2C, and software-only backgrounds do not transfer well here.

• You can work straight from technical source material. Hand you a conference abstract, a techno-economic analysis, or a process flow diagram and you produce accurate copy without an engineer rewriting it. Bring an example and be ready to explain how you made it.

• You are comfortable with the units our buyers live in: tonnes of CO2 per year, cost per tonne, kWh per kilogram, capacity factor, carbon intensity, life cycle assessment, technology readiness level. You do not need to be an electrochemist. You do need to never publish a wrong number.

• Experience marketing to industrial buyers and to the functions that sign: procurement, sustainability, corporate development, process engineering. You understand a sales cycle measured in years.

• You have run a B2B conference program yourself, including abstracts and speaking submissions against hard deadlines, booth planning, pre-show meeting generation, and post-show reporting. Familiarity with the chemicals, hydrogen, carbon management, sustainable aviation fuel, or polyester and packaging circuits helps.

• Hands-on with the tools: LinkedIn organic and paid, a CRM or marketing automation platform such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Marketo, GA4, and a CMS you can publish in yourself.

• Publication-quality written English. Your press releases, bylines, and website copy have to convince a chemical engineer and a journalist at once.

• Judgment about claims and confidentiality. Performance data does not go out before a patent is filed. Partner and customer names need written approval. Overstated environmental claims create real legal exposure, and we treat this as non-negotiable.

• Willingness to hold a standing evening overlap with our U.S. team in Eastern Time. This is a non-traveling role.

• A bachelor's degree. A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials, or environmental engineering counts for a lot.

Strongly preferred

• Time at a hard-tech or climate-tech company between pilot and first plant. You know the difference between marketing a product that exists and marketing a credible plan to build one, and you can do the second without overpromising.

• Experience on fundraising or diligence material: investor decks, data rooms.

• Exposure to government-funded programs and the communications strings attached, whether DOE, MNRE and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, DST, or state clean energy programs.

• Working knowledge of what drives our customers' purchasing: ISCC PLUS and mass balance chemistry, CORSIA, RED III, EU ETS and CBAM, 45Q and 45V.

• Experience hiring or art-directing a designer, and holding vendors to a budget.

• Kannada or Hindi alongside English, for local partner, vendor, and press work.

What success looks like in six months

• One agreed messaging framework in use across the website, the decks, and commercial conversations, with claim boundaries written down and respected.

• A rebuilt website our commercial team sends to prospects without being asked, and that we can update in hours.

• A published event and speaking calendar four quarters out, submissions in, booths budgeted.

• A working content cadence and a measurement baseline, so we can tell which activity produces qualified conversations.

This role is probably not for you if

• You need an established brand, a real budget, or a team underneath you to be effective.

• You would rather hand technical content to someone else than get inside it.

• Saying “we do not have that data yet” to a colleague, a journalist, or a prospect makes you uncomfortable.

Location, working pattern, and compensation

Hybrid: two days a week on site in Chikkaballapur, the rest wherever you work best. A company shuttle runs from Bengaluru, so you do not have to relocate or drive the corridor yourself.

Compensation: ₹17–20 lakh fixed CTC, plus equity and benefits. No travel. We do ask for a standing overlap with Eastern Time, which usually costs part of your evening rather than a full shift.

What to submit

We read work samples closely and CV formatting barely at all. Send three to five pieces, each with a line or two of context and a clear statement of what you did against what a team or an agency did.

• Something technical you wrote from primary source material: a byline, white paper, application note, or technical post. Include the published link if there is one.

• A positioning document, one-pager, or deck narrative you authored. We are reading the argument, not the design.

• One campaign or conference program you ran, with the objective, what you did, and the result. Include one that underperformed and what you changed.

• A website or landing page you owned, with a live link and a note on what you changed and why.

• Optional: a press release, award submission, or placement you landed.

Do not send anything under NDA. Redact figures, customer names, and unpublished data, or just describe the work. We will take your description at face value and ask about it in the interview. How you handle this tells us something we want to know.
