As Marketing Manager, you will be reporting to the NMD Business Unit Lead, you will lead the development and execution of brand strategies and integrated marketing plans for the Korea NMD portfolio, including SMA and ALS. This role is accountable for translating global and regional priorities into locally relevant strategies and high-impact tactics that address Korea market dynamics, customer needs, and patient care priorities. The Marketing Manager will work closely with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Medical, Value & Access, Corporate Affairs and Regulatory,, to drive aligned execution, field readiness, and sustainable business growth. The role also includes generating market and customer insights, tracking performance, managing marketing resources, and ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with local regulations, industry codes, and Biogen compliance standards.

  • Develop and lead the overall brand strategy and annual Integrated Customer Plan (ICP) for the SMA and ALS portfolio, in close collaboration with cross-functional partners, to drive sustainable business growth and improve patient outcomes.
  • Translate regional and global strategic priorities into locally relevant marketing plans, ensuring alignment with Korea market dynamics, customer needs, competitive landscape, and affiliate objectives.
  • Design, execute, and continuously optimize commercial tactics, promotional materials, multi-channel campaigns, and HCP engagement programs in accordance with local regulations, industry codes, and company compliance standards.
  • Generate and apply market, customer, patient, and competitive insights through data analysis, field feedback, and market research to identify business opportunities, unmet needs, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead product performance tracking, including development of KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to evaluate tactical execution, campaign effectiveness, market uptake, and business impact.
  • Develop financial forecasts, contribute to long-range planning, and manage the annual marketing budget to ensure efficient resource allocation and disciplined execution of brand priorities.
  • Partner with sales, medical, value & access, corporate affairs, regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to ensure integrated execution, competitive readiness, and consistent customer-facing communication.
  • Develop and deliver product, disease-area, campaign, and message training for the sales force and relevant affiliate teams to strengthen executional excellence and field readiness.
  • Build and maintain effective, compliant relationships with key medical experts, HCPs, patient-related stakeholders, and external partners to support disease awareness, appropriate product understanding, and patient-centered care.
  • Plan and execute offline and digital customer engagement activities, including advisory boards, symposia, educational meetings, and other HCP programs, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in biology, chemistry, pharmacy, life science is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, including at least 3 years of hands-on marketing experience as a brand owner or product/portfolio lead.
  • Experience in rare disease, neurology/CNS, specialty care, or highly specialized therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Strong marketing capabilities, including market and customer insight generation, strategic planning, segmentation and targeting, tactical execution, financial acumen, and performance tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience in new product launches, new indication launches, lifecycle management, or market-shaping initiatives is preferred.
  • Understanding of market access, reimbursement dynamics, and patient access considerations in Korea is preferred.
  • Ability to translate scientific, clinical, market, and customer insights into actionable marketing plans and execute promotional, HCP, sales training, and omnichannel engagement activities in a compliant and business-impactful manner.
  • Creative, innovative, bold, and entrepreneurial mindset, with agility and accountability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment, be willing to work in a startup firm.
  • Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence without authority across KME/HCP, external stakeholder, sales force, and cross-functional networks.
  • Fluency in both Korean and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard business software and digital tools, including Microsoft Office applications.
