The Immunodiagnostics Division (IDD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific aims to dramatically improve the management of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases by providing healthcare professionals with advanced diagnostics technologies and clinical expertise. Our key businesses: allergy, autoimmunity, and systems. This role will be part of the Global Downstream Marketing team.
How will you make an impact?We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical SEO and Generative Search Manager & Team Lead to join our Digital Channel Strategy team within the Global Downstream Marketing organization.
This role will help us improve organic visibility and adapt strategies for emerging generative AI search platforms, as well as oversee an impactful team of digital and content marketing specialists.
What will you do?
People leadership:- Lead and mentor team members by providing guidance, coaching, training, and support
- Foster unity, cooperation, and teamwork by encouraging collaboration and promoting a positive team culture
- Help team members ensure alignment with dotted line managers in the business, supporting task prioritization, effective workload distribution, and efficiency improvements
- Work closely with the SEO Strategist to implement on-page, off-page, and technical SEO initiatives
- Conduct keyword research, SERP analysis, and competitive bench marking for global and regional campaigns
- Optimize website content, metadata, and structured data for both traditional and AI-powered search experiences
- Support generative search optimization efforts to ensure content is discoverable, accurate, and favored by AI platforms (e.g., Google SGE, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT, Perplexity)
- Make recommendations to optimize web content for traditional and AI search platforms
- Work closely with the content and digital teams to ensure SEO/AEO/GEO requirements are integrated into campaigns and website updates
- Monitor rankings, traffic, and engagement metrics across traditional and generative search engines
- Support the SEO Strategist to prepare regular reports on performance, trends, and opportunities, providing insights to inform strategy
- Help develop frameworks for testing and refining GEO tactics as generative search evolves
- Stay up to date on emerging trends in AI search, answer engines, and local SEO guidelines
- Be available during off-hours to participate in meetings with team members based in the US and Europe
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in digital marketing, marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in people management, leading a digital marketing team
- 5+ years hands-on SEO or digital marketing experience, ideally with exposure to AEO and GEO
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and technical SEO
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
- Analytical approach with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
- Knowledge of structured data/Schema markup and its role in both traditional and generative search
- Experience with AI search optimization and experimentation
- Curiosity and adaptability to thrive in the evolving world of search and generative AI
- E· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to effectively present to business partners and leadership
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Strong time management, organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Use data and dashboards to inform our team with keen insights on improving KPIs
- Team player with a positive attitude who is prepared to focus and commit to accomplish business objectives
