Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for executing downstream marketing strategies and tactics to drive sustained revenue growth in the highly competitive Primary Knees segment. In this role, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Teams, Global Marketing, Supply Chain, Medical Education, and Sales Training to deliver and execute impactful commercial strategies.

What will you be doing?

You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Primary Knees market landscape, including market trends, customer priorities, and competitive dynamics, to inform our go-to-market approach. Acting as a key partner to the commercial sales team, you’ll provide technical product support both in the field and at corporate offices to ensure successful customer conversion and satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include building and executing go-to-market plans for assigned product lines—this spans promotions, medical education programs, digital marketing efforts, channel readiness, and inventory planning and allocation. You’ll lead regular progress reviews with Supply Chain and Global Business teams and maintain full marketing ownership over defined products and product lines.

You’ll also work closely with Global Upstream Marketing and Sales Leadership to develop marketing tools and resources, identify and support potential reference sites, and collaborate with the Global Clinical and Health Evidence team.

Working in close partnership with the sales team, you will define effective targeting strategies, cultivate physician champions, and gather field insights to drive informed marketing decisions. You will also represent the business at industry education events, customer meetings and labs, national sales meetings, and other strategic gatherings—consistently building strong relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders, and the broader sales organization.

What will you need to be successful?

To thrive in this role, you’ll need over five years of demonstrated marketing experience within the Recon Orthopaedics segment—a bachelor's degree -

experience in Knee products is a strong advantage. You’ll be a strategic thinker, capable of anticipating business needs and market shifts, and translating them into actionable plans.

You’ll bring demonstrated experience in building and executing marketing plans, along with a deep understanding of the go-to-market process and sales cycles for capital equipment. Collaboration will be key, as you’ll be navigating a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.

Success in this role also requires a high level of energy and engagement, the ability to influence at all levels, and exceptional communication and presentation skills. You should be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, and willing to roll up your sleeves to contribute where needed.

An understanding of competitive product positioning, market access models, and both direct and indirect sales channels will also be valuable.
