The Engineering Plastics (EP) Business Entity is a key pillar of Covestro's portfolio, delivering high-performance thermoplastics — including polycarbonate and blends — to industries that demand the highest standards of quality, durability, and design freedom. As Marketing Manager – Mobility Americas, you will be at the heart of shaping Covestro EP's market presence in one of the world's most dynamic automotive regions. You will drive the implementation of the global mobility marketing strategy within an Americas context and represent the region in Covestro's global Mobility Marketing organization. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role for a strategic thinker with deep roots in the automotive industry.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead marketing strategy for Mobility Americas — from segmentation and targeting to positioning and value proposition development — fully aligned with the global EP Mobility strategy.
Build and expand an external network with OEMs, Tier suppliers, and technology partners to identify future market trends, application opportunities, and technology developments — including design collaborations with leading design colleges and industry partners.
Globally co-lead the "Lighting" Market & Business Development program, steering all global activities in close coordination with Global Technical Marketing and regional Mobility teams.
Manage the Business Development Portfolio (BDP) for Americas, engaging with R&D to shape the product and application development roadmap.
Drive Circular Economy initiatives for Mobility Americas as part of Covestro's global sustainability agenda.
Lead and execute the MarCom plan for Americas, including trade shows, tech days, and digital campaigns, in collaboration with the global Mobility and MarCom teams.
Represent Covestro EP Mobility as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and speaker in external communications and industry forums.
What You Offer
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Business discipline with 8+ years of professional experience in the automotive industry, in techno-commercial roles, or in external customer-facing positions; OR Master's degree in Engineering or a Business discipline with 6+ years’ experience in the automotive industry, in techno-commercial roles, or in external customer-facing positions
Experience in the plastics and/or automotive industry — understanding of materials, applications, and value chains.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in business development, market intelligence, or application marketing in a B2B environment.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proven expertise in marketing strategy development and structured project management.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to lead global teams in a matrix organization.
Excellent communication and networking skills, with cross-cultural agility and full professional fluency in English. Additional languages (especially Spanish or Portuguese) are a plus.
Familiarity with sustainability and circular economic concepts in an industrial context.
