Lincoln Knolls Health & Rehab is seeking an experienced, energetic, compassionate, and results-driven Marketing and Admissions Director to join our skilled nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong personality, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for helping residents and their families navigate the skilled nursing admission process.

The Marketing Director will play a key role in driving census growth, developing referral relationships, and overseeing the admissions process from initial inquiry through admission. The successful candidate will understand the skilled nursing industry and have working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements as they relate to skilled nursing services.

Job Summary

The Marketing Director is responsible for census development, referral relationship management, admissions coordination, and marketing activities for the facility.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and comfortable developing relationships with hospitals, physicians, physician groups, case managers, discharge planners, residents, families, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with hospitals, physicians, physician groups, case managers, discharge planners, and other referral sources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase admissions and maintain a strong, consistent resident census.
  • Identify new referral opportunities and build relationships with potential referral partners within the community.
  • Conduct on-site admission evaluations at local hospitals and other referral locations when appropriate.
  • Aggressively pursue qualified referral opportunities and facilitate the referral and admission process.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the facility, residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources throughout the pre-admission and admission process.
  • Conduct facility tours and respond promptly to inquiries from prospective residents and families.
  • Complete admission screenings and coordinate with the Director of Nursing to ensure potential admissions are clinically appropriate and thoroughly reviewed prior to admission.
  • Educate residents, families, referral sources, and visitors regarding facility services, programs, and resources.
  • Ensure admission paperwork and required documentation are completed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain consistent communication with referral sources regarding the status of referrals and admissions.
  • Monitor census and referral activity and identify opportunities for continued growth.
  • Represent the facility professionally at community events, networking opportunities, hospitals, physician offices, and other healthcare organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with facility leadership and staff to ensure a smooth and positive admission experience.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least 2 years of experience in admissions, marketing, business development, or a related healthcare role.
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and healthcare reimbursement programs.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical concepts.
  • Insurance authorization experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional referral relationships.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A professional, positive, and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a leadership team.
  • A strong sense of urgency and the ability to follow up consistently on referral opportunities.
  • A genuine passion for helping residents and families and representing the facility in a positive manner.
