The responsibility of the Marketing Director for MEAWA region is to ensure cluster
• Have profitable brand P&Ls.
• Lead local marketing teams and collaborate with region and global marketing.
• Have strategic development plans in place for local markets.
• Show market share growth against identified competitive brands.
• Monitor and manage the category A&P efficiently and effectively.
Scope of the role
- Geographical scope: MEAWA region with specific focus in South Africa, Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey and India.
- Business Units: Health and Medical
- Therapy Area: HM brands and specific focus on Incontinence.
Main accountabilities and responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to global brand strategy and implement it in line with regional/local requirements.
- Lead strategic planning for the TENA brand and drive local activities planning processes.
- Secure alignment of local pricing and strategic pricing to improve country gross profit.
- Formulate marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing Activation Managers and guide them on strategic plans.
- Drive TENA Incontinence assortment initiatives with global partners (Supply Chain, GMI).
- Brand Management:
- Optimize and drive brand communication in local markets, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Ensure consistent visual brand identity for each brand and channel.
- Define brand activation touchpoints consistent with global guidance and channel strategy.
- Lead brand analysis and own corrective actions for TENA brand.
- Market Insights:
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business development opportunities for all HM Brands.
- Develop and standardize market research data to understand market potential.
- Provide insights into regional market dynamics such as government health funding, budgeting, and reimbursement policies.
- People Management:
- Provide ongoing management and coaching to four local Marketing Activation Managers and two Cluster Brand Managers.
- Establish best practices to maximize marketing business impact.
- Conduct brand/product training for new entrants and align product content of training material for Inco TENA brands.
- Financial Oversight:
- Overall responsibility for brand P&L, brand building, and market share development.
- Manage advertising and promotion spend and activities in collaboration with Marketing Activation Managers.
- Follow up on regional advertising and promotion budgets.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Secure close and effective communication and cooperation between regional and global teams and internal/external stakeholders.
- Key contact with GMI Inco, Innovation, and Communication teams.
- Active participation in global initiatives and development of global innovation.
- Event Management:
- Set and provide direction for national tradeshows/congresses, including focus products, sponsorships, and speaking engagements.
- Own strategic planning on how/where to utilize Key Opinion Leaders (KOL).
Experience and qualification requirement
- Must have a university degree in Marketing or with commercial subjects;
- 10 years' experience in Marketing in the same or similar role as in Health/Med Tech industry, ideally within Incontinence (OTC/FMCG) related categories.
- Commercial and business acumen, be able to translate brand visions into effective strategies, propositions and plans that fulfill the vision and are financially viable;
- Relevant experience in Global Marketing management, preferably within a Matrix organisation
- Exposure to both Sales and Marketing role is preferable. Some experience in Sales Management will be an added advantage
- Ability to analyse and map, understand customers operational and purchasing process. Trends etc.
- Own self-drive and able to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
- Excellent Communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Process Driven and systematic.
- Ability to lead and manage teams.
- Result Oriented with a mind set to exceed expectations on consistent basis.
- Must be a self-leader, organized and collaborative in work across functional teams.
