Position Summary 

We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Marketing Data Specialist to join our growing marketing team in this fully remote role. This role delivers critical data, analytics, and business intelligence support for student recruitment, primarily serving our admissions and marketing teams through reporting, data collection, and accurate, timely inquiry routing across our CRM platform. 

Working in close partnership with our IT department and data-management vendors, the Marketing Data Specialist will design and maintain Power BI dashboards, write SQL to query and transform large datasets, and translate findings into decision-ready intelligence that optimizes marketing and advertising strategy. The role also owns data-integrity troubleshooting and the delivery of both recurring reporting dashboards and ad hoc analysis. Success demands strong SQL fluency, rigorous analytical thinking, and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable reporting. 

Responsibilities 

Business Intelligence, Dashboarding & Reporting 

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models that surface campaign performance, funnel conversion, and recruitment trends for marketing, admissions, and leadership stakeholders. 
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and transform data across CRM, lead-management, and reporting systems. 
  • Deliver end-to-end, data-powered solutions including problem definition, data acquisition, exploration, visualization, and interpretation of results. 
  • Analyze large datasets to monitor campaign performance, identify growth opportunities, and recommend improvements to recruitment efficiency, conversion, and overall campaign performance. 
  • Produce both recurring reporting dashboards and ad hoc analysis in response to stakeholder needs. 

Data Routing & Data Integrity 

  • Understand and optimize the mechanics and data underpinning each marketing channel and segment. 
  • Ensure accurate, timely inquiry routing through the CRM platform, and proactively troubleshoot perceived data issues. 
  • Own the MAP analytics program, delivering geographic (including zip-code and territory routing) and demographic data intelligence. 

Platform Expertise & Collaboration 

  • Pull data, metrics, and analytics for marketing campaigns, channels, and conversion performance across CRM and lead-management platforms (e.g., LeadSquared, Sparkroom, Nexus) and Power BI. 
  • Serve as the liaison with IT and data-platform/CRM vendors to translate marketing requirements into data needs and reporting tools. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, admissions, operations, IT, leadership, and agency partners to align analytics with business objectives. 
  • Prepare reports on marketing and admissions metrics to optimize performance. 

Requirements 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, finance, computer science, or marketing/data analytics (or equivalent work experience). 
  • 2–3 years of experience in business, finance, higher education, or marketing analytics (including related internships). 
  • Demonstrated proficiency building dashboards and reports in Power BI (DAX and data modeling a strong plus). 
  • Working proficiency in SQL, including writing queries against relational databases to extract and transform data. 
  • Proficiency in data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization. 
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, LeadSquared) and lead-management systems (e.g., Sparkroom). 
  • Strong proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to run, review, and interpret data for stakeholders. 

People Responsibilities

Physical Environment 

  • Fully remote work environment. 
  • Incumbents may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
