We are creative, organized, flexible, and entrepreneurial. Each week and month looks a bit different as we continue to experiment with new strategies and optimize our approach to existing channels. As the Content Coordinator, you will tell the story of our company through video, written content, social media, customer stories, and public relations work. You will be directly responsible for interfacing with our customers and internal stakeholders to produce amazing video content that promotes the Formic mission and model, and creatively distribute that content to maximize impact. Own Formic’s PR strategy and execution alongside our agency. This will include writing press releases, crafting pitches, and liaising with reporters. Our team is a perfect fit for those looking to work on a range of projects as a member of a team driven by a singular mission: help Formic grow.

  • Lead the creation of multi-media marketing content including video creation, graphic design, shareable content, ads, print collateral, and social media posts that support Formic's brand identity, value proposition, and customer journey - resulting in greater awareness and lead generation
  • Leverage playbooks and approaches that you have previously succeeded with to generate foundational success in visual storytelling
  • Contribute ideas to leverage multi-media content to engage at all levels of the marketing and sales funnel
  • Create sales and marketing assets for use in developing pipeline, closing business, nurturing customer relationships, and sales enablement
  • Support the aggregation of core company messaging both internally and externally
  • Help drive the growth of the business

What makes you a great fit:

  • 4+ years of video and graphic design experience with a creative agency or a specific focus on B2B marketing
  • Video production experience, including some combination of shooting, directing, editing, and/or motion graphics for both long and short form video
  • Capable of distilling complex subjects into simple and easy to understand visuals and communicating the same information to different audiences in ways they will best consume it
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, and opinionated about what makes for great content in a B2B environment, with the determination and focus to execute, even when participants are reluctant to participate
  • Fantastic cross-functional collaborator with all departments at the company, and interpersonal skills to get many different types of communicators comfortable being in front of the camera
  • Excited to be a part of a dynamic, growing and changing organization
  • A creative thinker and self-starter who comes to the table with ideas for projects and can execute with minimal oversight
  • A fantastic communicator - we are a fully remote organization, and thus, place a premium on crisp, concise emails, Slack messages, and project plans
  • Excited to travel for video shoots on an as-needed basis
  • Flexible to grow and adapt the job description as business needs change
  • This role can be based in Woodridge, IL or remote within the US. If Woodridge based, you will need the ability to work a hybrid schedule (3+ days/week) in office

  • Experience in the automation, robotics, and/or manufacturing
  • Experience with Hubspot and Salesforce

What we look for:

We’re building a company from the ground up, so every single person we hire has a massive impact on our team, culture, and ability to accomplish our mission. If this sounds like you, Formic could be the place for you:

  • Fearless Optimism: You share our ambitious vision of what we can accomplish. You’re aware of the challenges we will face as a startup doing new things in an old space, but you’re energized by the incredible opportunity we have to drive change for our customers, and for the manufacturing industry at large.
  • Factories First: You have a strong customer focus, no matter who your customer is. You seek to make things easier and better for our customers, even if it makes your job a little harder.
  • Today, Not Tomorrow: There are always plenty of projects to tackle in a startup, but you prioritize, take accountability for work, and have a bias toward action.
  • Be Right Often: You don’t do things just because that’s how they’ve always been done. You keep looking for ways to improve, seek out feedback along the way, and back your decisions up with data.
  • Made of Rubber: Just like rubber, when you fall you bounce back up. You know there’s going to be a lot of challenge and change in our work ahead but you are adaptable, resilient, and ready to thrive through it all.
  • Good Baton Passes: You work with a desire to make things easier and better for your team members. You use empathy to understand the needs and goals of others and support each other so Formic can be successful together.
