What We’re Looking For
Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for a Marketing & Communications Manager - NC ROOTS Hub Lead to join our team! The Marketing & Communications Manager for the NC ROOTS Hub Lead is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive, multi-regional communications strategy that supports the successful implementation of the NC ROOTS initiative. This role ensures consistent, transparent, and culturally responsive messaging across diverse stakeholders including community-based organizations (CBOs), healthcare providers, rural residents, state partners, and internal teams. This is not a traditional marketing role. It is a mission-critical change management and engagement function responsible for building trust, driving participation, and ensuring alignment across a complex, multi-partner ecosystem.
*Recruitment for this position is being conducted in anticipation of program funding approval. The position is contingent upon receipt and continuation of funding through the NC Roots effective June 1, 2026. The organization reserves the right to delay hiring, modify, or withdraw the position based on funding status.
On a typical day, you might:
- Develop and implement a regional communications and engagement strategy aligned with NC ROOTS goals and timelines.
- Design and execute community-facing campaigns to increase awareness, trust, and participation in NC ROOTS initiatives.
- Lead internal communications to ensure alignment across Hub leadership, regional teams, and sub-awardees.
- Establish and maintain a consistent NC ROOTS Hub brand identity across all materials and platforms.
- Manage relationships with local, regional, and statewide media.

Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field and three (3) years of experience leading strategic communications or experience leading multi-stakeholder communication strategies in healthcare, public health, or community-based initiatives; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field and one (1) year of experience leading strategic communications or experience leading multi-stakeholder communication strategies in healthcare, public health, or community-based initiatives; OR
- Equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must reside within North Carolina.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience working with Medicaid programs, managed care, or state/federal initiatives.
- Experience supporting large-scale program implementation or system transformation.
- Familiarity with North Carolina’s healthcare and community landscape.
- Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance-driven communications.
