JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Communications Coordinator will work in the Communications and External Affairs department, reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Communications. This role contributes to the execution of departmental initiatives as they relate to positioning PHMC internally and externally with all stakeholders.

The position provides critical coordination and support to the team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to creating relevant and compelling content across multiple channels, managing multiple and simultaneous projects, and serving as the communications liaison across designated programs and subsidiaries. This role also coordinates, executes, and oversees all PHMC social media strategies and platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with team members on delivery of all internal communications, assisting with development and management of the editorial calendar, copywriting, editing, and providing creative support as needed.
  • Develop content, write, and edit for a variety of audiences and purposes, including but not limited to employee eblasts, internal news, lobby screens, the PHMC intranet, and phmc.org.
  • Update and manage tools used by the team to track open projects, including the team editorial calendar.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of PHMC social media messaging, monitoring, and reports.
  • Serve as the key copy editor as needed across all PHMC and subsidiary collateral, reports, and other communications.
  • Provide support in the development and execution of PHMC marketing channels and deliverables.
  • Provide support to peer and supervisory team members as needed.
  • Participate in creative planning sessions with program, subsidiary, and shared services leaders.
  • Work closely with the design team to execute internal/external campaigns for PHMC, subsidiary, or program needs.
  • Promote adherence to centralized communications services and enterprise brand guidelines across programs and subsidiaries.
  • Provide administrative support on various team deliverables.
  • Collaborate with external vendors.
  • Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex information into understandable communications
  • Ability to approach the role with a broad marketing communications lens, integrating traditional communications, branding, and marketing approaches to meet the needs of the organization
  • High degree of personal initiative, with an approach of introducing new ideas and a fresh perspective
  • Ability to take direction and execute on plans
  • Willingness to seek input and hear feedback
  • Ability to work independently, providing relevant updates to leaders, communicating about anticipated challenges and roadblocks, and solving problems
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn about PHMC programs and subsidiaries, communities served, and the public health arena
  • Working knowledge and application of SEO standards in content development

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or English required
  • Minimum of two years of relevant applied experience required
  • Preferred: Experience using project management tools such as Trello, Asana, Monday.com, etc.
  • Preferred: Experience working in social media platforms and scheduling services such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.
