Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
Cost management
Support Marketing Finance manager to ensure all marketing costs are accurately captured and processes are followed
Provide assistance with marketing accrual management – including monitoring PO issue status and releases of aged accruals
Provide assistance with marketing journals; ensuring all marketing costs are captured and recognized as per Samsung accounting standards
Track critical metrics related to marketing costs
Commercial Support
Management of Marketing Offer sheets – master data, customer emailing and customer acceptance
Support in liaising with customers/vendors for invoice/reconciliation/evidence issues
Support in validating and paying customer/vendor claims
Work closely with Shared Service Centre team to resolve invoice issues
Help manage external partner funding activities; working closely with the marketing teams to ensure the relevant external partner process is adhered to and deadlines are met, ensuring that all relevant costs are captured and reconciled.
Provide input into further development of business processes and reporting to control and monitor divisional costs
Provide training to Marketing and Sales teams offering mentorship and knowledge across various stages of the marketing finance processes
Reporting
Supports Marketing Finance team with various reporting tasks that provides a view on the marketing cost/budget management
Quarterly reconciliation reporting for Head Office
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Qualified/Part Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards
Experience working with different cultures amongst sales/marketing team
Experience in technology or FMCG sectors
Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Strong commercial competence
Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions and direct others
Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers and interpret financial results
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others
Proven track record in demonstrating accountability and ownership; proactive approach
Strong influencing skills to persuade management that your conclusions are accurate and acquire agreement
Strong reporting skills, display key information and convey messages clearly, concisely and with impact
What does success look like?
The candidate should be driven with a desire to complete all activities they are set in an efficient and timely manner.
- In the first 6 to 12 months, the candidate will have developed the abilities to lead all aspects of the approval process for marketing costs. They will feel confident liaising with stakeholders to resolve any marketing finance queries.
- Managing Aged Marketing POs will be a key part of the role; ensuring the number of Aged POs doesn’t become too great and vendors / customers are completing their billing on time as per policy guidelines.
- Performance Management through day to day tasks as per the responsibilities above and targets will be set once every 6 months to help build experience and knowledge to improve team processes.
