Marketing Business Controller – EMEA
Objective:
We are currently looking for a Marketing Business Controller for region EMEA. The main objective of this role is to ensure strong financial governance, transparency, and performance management of marketing investments, supporting profitable growth, optimize costs and value creation in line with Business Area priorities.
This is a great opportunity to work closely with senior leaders within marketing, elevate brand visibility and truly take the lead in driving results.
In detail you will:
Financial Business Partnering:
- Act as the finance partner to Marketing leadership across EMEA
- Challenge and support marketing strategies and initiatives with fact-based financial insights
- Translate marketing plans into clear financial impacts (P&L, EBIT, ROI)
Performance Management & Reporting:
- Own marketing performance tracking (actuals vs plan, forecast, ROI)
- Drive monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting for marketing costs and investments
- Ensure alignment between marketing KPIs, financial KPIs, and Business Area targets
Cost Control & Governance:
- Ensure robust cost control, accrual accuracy, and costs optmization spend discipline
- Review and challenge marketing accruals, provisions, and releases
- Ensure compliance with group policies, accounting rules, and governance frameworks
Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead marketing input into Budget, Forecast, and Strategic Plan processe
- Support scenario analysis and trade-off discussions on spend versus value creation
- Ensure consistent assumptions and methodologies across regions
Standardization & Process Improvement:
- Drive standardized reporting, tools, and processes across EMEA
- Contribute to finance transformation, automation, and simplification initiative
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices
Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate with regional controllers, shared services, and central finance teams
- Support leadership decision-making through clear and actionable insights
In addition to the Marketing Controller responsibilities, the role has top responsibility for Business Area EA commercial Opex and Capex controlling, covering planning, forecasting, and actuals. The role ensures end-to-end governance, transparency, and performance management of commercial costs and investments across the Business Area.
You have:
- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or similar
- 5–8+ years of experience in controlling, FP&A, or commercial finance
- Proven experience in business partnering, preferably with marketing or commercial functions
- Experience working in multi-country and matrix organizations
- Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and performance management skills
- Solid understanding of P&L, EBIT drivers, accruals, and cost governance
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and business-oriented mindset
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with ERP and reporting tools (e.g. SAP, AARO, Power BI or similar)
