This position is based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL.

General Description:

The Marketing Budget Analyst manages the tracking and optimization of the firm’s marketing and business‑development budget. The role supports strategic decision‑making by providing accurate forecasting, financial analysis, and transparent and accurate reporting. This position works closely with the Marketing & Business Development team, Finance, and practice leadership to ensure that marketing investments align with firm priorities and client‑development goals.
 

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with Senior Manager to develop and track of the annual marketing budget in partnership with Marketing leadership, practice groups, and Finance.
  • Monitor spend across campaigns, events, sponsorships, technology platforms, and vendor contracts.
  • On a monthly basis, collaborate with Marketing team to review budget and reconcile and take corrective action, as needed.
  • Manage expense reimbursements, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly budget reports with insights on trends, ROI, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze historical spend to inform forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Evaluate the cost‑effectiveness of marketing channels, tools, and external vendors.
  • Partner with Marketing & Business Development teams to assess the budgetary impact of sponsorships, conferences, client events, and thought‑leadership initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, procurement guidelines, and financial controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve transparency.
  • Maintain documentation of budget assumptions, methodologies, and reporting standards.
  • Serve as a resource for the Marketing team and firm-wide departments on expense best practices related to budget spends.
  • Provide training on use of marketing tracking systems and develop and maintain QRGs and other materials to reinforce proper use of system.
  • Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.
     

Required Skills:

  • Experience managing budgets in a professional‑services environment.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
     

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Marketing Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or marketing operations.
     

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

  • Experience in a law firm or partnership‑based organization.
  • Knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, and event‑management platforms (e.g., Emburse).
  • Understanding of legal‑industry marketing, sponsorships, and business‑development processes.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
