Mesirow is seeking a creative, analytical, and detail-oriented Marketing Associate, Social Media & Digital Marketing, to support the firm's growing digital presence across Wealth Management and Corporate marketing initiatives.
This role will help execute social media strategies, manage day-to-day content publishing, maintain editorial calendars, support employee advocacy programs, administer Hearsay workflows, and analyze campaign performance. The ideal candidate combines strong content and project management skills with a passion for digital marketing, social media trends, data analytics, and the highly regulated financial services industry.
Working closely with marketing, business leaders, compliance, and external partners, this individual will help expand engagement, strengthen brand visibility, and support integrated digital campaigns across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Support execution of firmwide social media strategies across LinkedIn, Instagram, and other approved digital channels.
- Develop, schedule, and publish social content that aligns with business priorities, brand standards, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and manage content calendars for Wealth Management, Corporate marketing, and firmwide initiatives.
- Coordinate social media campaigns supporting thought leadership, events, webinars, podcasts, recruiting efforts, and corporate announcements.
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, trends, and brand mentions.
- Assist in community management by responding to and escalating inquiries as appropriate.
- Support employee advocacy initiatives by assisting advisors and employees with social media participation and content-sharing programs.
Hearsay & Compliance Administration
- Manage day-to-day publishing workflows through Hearsay.
- Coordinate content approvals with Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams.
- Support employee social media participation programs and advisor/employee social media enablement.
- Maintain familiarity with firm social media policies and financial services regulatory requirements.
- Ensure content is archived, approved, and published in accordance with firm guidelines and industry regulations.
Content Development
- Draft compelling social copy tailored to platform-specific audiences.
- Assist in repurposing articles, market commentary, videos, podcasts, white papers, and website content into engaging social assets.
- Collaborate with Creative Services to develop graphics, video snippets, and digital content.
- Collaborate with Marketing team members to develop content that aligns with business goals.
- Support content planning and editorial meetings.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report key performance metrics including impressions, engagement, click-through rates, audience growth, website traffic, and campaign effectiveness.
- Develop recurring social media and digital marketing reports for stakeholders.
- Identify actionable insights and optimization opportunities based on campaign performance.
- Support benchmarking efforts and competitive analysis.
Digital Campaign Support
- Assist in planning, launching, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns.
- Support paid social, email marketing, website promotion, and lead-generation initiatives.
- Collaborate across the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
- Help test new digital tactics, audience-targeting approaches, and campaign formats.
Project & Team Support
- Coordinate projects across Digital Marketing, Brand, Creative Services, Wealth Marketing, and Corporate Marketing teams.
- Maintain project timelines and help ensure timely execution of campaigns and initiatives.
- Stay informed on emerging social media, digital marketing, and financial services trends.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, content marketing, or communications.
- Hands-on experience managing LinkedIn and Instagram content for a brand or subject matter expert.
- Strong copywriting and content development skills.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and management platforms.
- Experience creating and maintaining content calendars.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office .Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience within financial services, wealth management, banking, asset management, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience using Hearsay, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar social media management platforms.
- Experience with paid social campaigns and digital advertising.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and social reporting dashboards.
- Experience coordinating with compliance and legal review processes.
In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $75,000 and $90,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
