POSITION SUMMARY

Marketing and Social Media Specialist will support the marketing, communications, social media, and promotional efforts across Legends Global managed recreational facilities in Chicago. This position will be responsible for developing engaging marketing materials, promoting programs and events, increasing community awareness, and ensuring consistent and professional branding across facilities.

The Specialist will work closely with facility coordinators, managers, instructors, and leadership to identify marketing needs and translate program information into effective promotional campaigns. This role will also provide administrative and organizational support for marketing initiatives and help establish consistent industry-standard marketing and communication practices across the recreational facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES

  • Manage and develop social media content across platforms, including Instagram, to promote classes, programs, events, camps, workshops, tournaments, team skating nights, break-week programming, and other recreational offerings.

  • Create and coordinate marketing materials, including flyers, posters, graphics, digital advertisements, newsletters, e-blasts, and other promotional content.

  • Develop promotional media for individual programs, seasonal offerings, special events, and community initiatives.

  • Maintain a consistent and professional brand identity, visual aesthetic, and messaging across recreational facilities.

  • Support website updates and ensure program, event, and facility information is accurate, current, and engaging.

  • Meet regularly with facility coordinators and managers to gather program and event information and incorporate it into marketing calendars and promotional plans.

  • Coordinate marketing initiatives across multiple recreational facilities while managing deadlines, content calendars, and promotional schedules.

  • Attend programs, events, and community activities as needed to capture content and support promotional efforts.

  • Develop and support community outreach and recruitment initiatives through social media, digital marketing, partnerships, and community events.

  • Identify opportunities to increase program participation, community awareness, engagement, and facility visibility.

  • Evaluate and enhance promotional signage, displays, and other public-facing materials throughout facilities.

  • Establish standardized marketing processes, templates, and resources to improve consistency and efficiency.

  • Maintain organized marketing files, calendars, communications, and promotional resources.

  • Monitor social media trends and industry practices and recommend new marketing strategies and opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.

  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, social media, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience creating social media content and promotional materials.

  • Experience with graphic design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and visual aesthetics.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with facility staff and leadership.

  • Experience working with recreational facilities, sports, parks, community programming, or a similar environment is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will support multiple recreational facilities and will not be assigned a dedicated office at every location. The primary workspace is anticipated to be at McFetridge Sports Center, with the ability to work from other recreational facilities as needed. The position requires flexibility to travel between facilities and attend programs, community events, tournaments, camps, workshops, and other activities based on marketing needs.

SALARY RANGE: $50,000–$60,000

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather conditions. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and have the physical ability to maneuver throughout the facility, including walking and/or standing for extended periods of time, which may be up to 5 hours or more in a day.
