Marketing Analytics Analyst

The Marketing Analytics Analyst will be a key contributor to the marketing analytics team, which owns all marketing data architecture, visualization, and analysis related to the efforts of the marketing organization. This includes projects and initiatives centered around customer data, segmentation building, lifecycle metrics, and campaign optimization. This role will be able to serve the basic reporting needs of our marketers, while finding opportunities to dive deeper into complex data challenges.

The perfect candidate for this role takes a consultative approach to solving business problems with non-technical partners. They’re capable of distilling complex ideas and data into logical insights and recommendations. Finally, they’re effective in prioritizing work and take a scrappy approach to getting the job done.

What You'll Do:

  • Tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of marketing activities, ad-hoc analytics requests, and development/automation of regular reports.
  • Write, optimize, and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate marketing data from databases for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop customized queries to support various marketing and business initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining and optimizing the data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
  • Develop processes & frameworks for repeatability in common analysis asks.
  • Regularly audit data outputs for anomalies and reporting errors.
  • Partner with business analytics, sales operations, and marketing technology teams to uphold data quality standards, and evaluate new marketing data sources & tooling.

What We're Looking For: 

  • Technical experience in B2B marketing analytics & web analytics best practices, with strong hands-on experience with common B2B tools like Salesforce and Marketo
  • Experience in common data warehousing & business intelligence tools like Google BigQuery and Looker (with proficiency in SQL)
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on basic lead lifecycle/funnel metrics
  • Experience with building segments and target audiences based on previous analysis
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across marketing teams, managing expectations, and producing reports/analysis in a timely manner
  • Communication style capable of distilling complex data into actionable insights for marketers
  • Bachelor's degree 

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • Experience with dbt and version control systems like git
  • Knowledgeable in statistical programming languages such as Python or R
  • Experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementation

Work Hours:

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours. 

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:

  • This position is based out of Fastly’s San Francisco office and will go into the office 3 days/week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). 

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $97,910 to $122,380. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
