Are you passionate about data-driven marketing? Our Freeport, Maine-based Marketing Team is currently in search of a Marketing Analyst to support our Direct Mail and Sales Promotions Team. This important role will be responsible for the development, implementation and analysis of L.L.Bean's direct mail and/or promotions plans to meet sales goals, maximize customer response and optimize profitability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with querying databases, compiling information in spreadsheets, identifying trends and recommending actionable insights to drive business growth. This role requires 3 days per week onsite.
Position Purpose:
Responsible for planning and implementation of marketing programs or projects that support sales, profit, and customer file growth goals. Works individually and as part of a team to analyze financial considerations, develop marketing forecasts, estimate costs, prepare pricing and manage budgets. This person has a thorough knowledge of customer marketing and is able to draw on principles, theories, concepts, and past experience to determine a course of action.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute marketing strategy that maximizes existing exposure plans and channels. Conduct decision support. Provide advanced level analysis of programs or projects.
- Participates in projects such as the development of marketing plans, forecasts, pricing, and competitive evaluations.
- Particpate in the development and implementation of marketing projects that incorporate appropriate aspects of merchandising, marketing and creative. Understand implications of corporate strategic efforts including but not limited to product development plans, product pricing and inventory forecasts.
- Develop and execute catalog and/or promotions budgets and forecasts. Participate in the development of long term plans. Foster vendor relationships and address long term/strategic issues. Negotiate based on established objectives and strategies.
- Performs moderately complex analysis of program/project; Identifies trends and makes recommendations.
- Lead monthly plan updates and communicate changes to internal and external partners
- Collaborate with Marketing Analytics team to understand promotional performance and support monthly business reviews
- Build and maintain ongoing reporting to support Marketing program performance analysis
- Participate in ad hoc business analysis to support Marketing programs
- Support tactical aspects of promotions set-up and/or catalog production
Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to work independently on tasks and analysis
- Critical thinker - able to challenge own work, ask questions, see flaws in data, highlight issues and find resolution
- Thorough knowledge of customer marketing
- Creative idea generator and problem solver
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; effectively facilitates cross functional communications
- Driven to produce results; solicits input and forms decisions.
- Adept at developing and maintaining strong relationships externally & internally
- Team player, flexible, able to adapt to change
- Highly organized, attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; adept at analysis and report development
- Able to query databases using SQL and other BI tools
- Strong understanding of the L. L. Bean outdoor brand positioning preferred
Education Level: BA/Masters
Years of Experience: 2-3 years in Marketing and/or business analytics
