Job Responsibilities

The Risk Controller team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and validity of risk data disclosed in the firm's external financial reporting, including quarterly earnings presentations, CCAR 14Q, 10Q/K, and stand-alone legal entity financial statements. The team also identifies, logs, and remediates data quality issues and participates in change management initiatives. Additionally, the team is expected to deliver insightful, high-quality analytics to senior stakeholders across Risk Management & Compliance and the Office of the CFO, enabling well-informed decision-making.

This position requires a candidate who possesses or is willing to develop deep knowledge and technical expertise in risk reporting processes by understanding the broader Market Risk control framework and its impact on external reporting.   • Execute and review controls (reconciliations, quality checks, independent reviews, variance analysis) for internal/external reporting and resolve variances with stakeholders.
        - Support Risk Executives via control metrics presentations and review meetings.
        - Implement team agenda, drive improvements, and build partnerships across key functions.
        - Use analytical skills to add value and deliver best‑in‑class results.
        - Develop Business Intelligence solutions to improve data processing and analytics.
        - Collaborate with technology to provide business requirements for strategic initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years of relevant experience in the financial services or investment banking sector, performing finance, accounting, or analytical functions. 
  • A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently, producing high-quality work within tight deadlines. Ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and succinctly, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to understand business drivers and requirements, influence partners to deliver solutions to business challenges, and handle a variety of tasks, demonstrating a willingness to take on new and exciting opportunities.
  • Proven ability to work across diverse groups, build consensus, and execute agreed-upon plans.
  • Strong functional knowledge on financial products and risk management concepts along with technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in market risk analysis and reporting, trade support or middle office, and financial accounting would be advantageous
  • Experience with Intelligent Solutions (Alteryx; Tableau, Python, Etc.) is a plus
