Catalyst is our largest analytical unit focused on the optimisation and modernisation of our methods and processes by leveraging technology, automation, and visualisation. The team is also responsible for developing and executing our custom productised solutions (NextGen practice) that allow us to answer our clients' critical business questions faster. Our research is varied in terms of geographic footprint. Typically, work will either be multi-country, or focused on one of the America’s markets. For this reason, English and Spanish language skills are a must, and Portuguese is a plus. Additionally, there also a great deal of variety in terms of sectors – while the Research Associate will often be working with the big global FMCG players such as those in Consumer Finance, Home & Garden and Packaging, other key clients come from areas such as government organizations and trade associations. As such, work can be business-to-business or consumer focused.

Responsibilities

1. Research and data triangulation
· Identifies key sources within the scope of the study.
· Conducts interviews with trade sources.
· Gathers all necessary inputs from in-house and external sources on the subject matter.
· Utilises available inputs to effectively answer client question and meet research objectives.
· Effectively applies a mixed-method approach, utilising in-house data, tools, external sources, interviews, and surveys to answer client questions.
· Conducts interviews with internal and externals industry experts.
2. Content, analysis and editorial
· Reviews all inputs and research findings to develop engaging analysis for final reporting.
· Fast-checks facts and find additional information to add insight or fill existing gaps.
· Develops content for client deliverables with engaging storytelling and addressing client's key business questions and objectives.
· Maintains the appropriate tone, adhering to Euromonitor Style guidelines.
· Checks for errors in grammar, punctuation, and style.
· Edits and polish existing content to improve style and readability.
· Creates compelling headlines and analysis that captures the reader's attention.
· Generates succinct conclusions and strategic analysis using resources provided.
· Completes a full review of all generated content via querying, validation and final interpretation of data and analysis to ensure client objectives are met.
3. Methdology and research management
· Takes responsibility for project planning and set-up, including development of briefs, templates, and other supporting materials.
· Conducts preliminary research into new project areas to develop useful project documents.
4. Quality control
· Monitors and reviews data that is delivered to our internal and external clients.
· Develops and execute data clean-up measures.
· Maintains a record of the original and corrected data sets.
· Identifies, assesses, and resolves any data quality issues.
5. Project and stakeholder management
· Day-to-day line management of in-country analysts, including regular communication via phone, email, other media, scheduling, and payment administration.
· Upkeep of all project-related folders and materials to ensure that all information is easily accessible to all project team members.

The experience
· Proficiency in English and Spanish, Portuguese is an advantage
· Recent graduate (0-2 years of experience)
· University degree in an area such as Business, Engineering, Maths or Analytics
· Exposure to visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
· High level of numeracy
· Highly computer literate (particularly in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
· Confidence in engaging with trade sources to gain additional insight
· Great analysis and report writing skills
· First-rate time management and ability to prioritise
· The ability to work effectively and fast when required by tight project deadlines
· Outstanding attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
