Octopus EV is seeking a Market Manager to lead the introduction of an innovative electric car lease product in California. The Market Manager will work with the Octopus EV marketing, sales and procurement functions, as well as our vehicle operations/fulfillment partner to introduce our lease product to customers, drive local sales and manage vehicle deliveries to customers.


This is a multi-faceted role with uncapped growth potential based on the Market Manager’s success in driving market growth with exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will confidently operate in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment and maintain focus on key objectives while responding to ongoing change.

What you'll do

  • Partner with sales function to win local lease customers using our easy online sales and approval process
  • Initiate and develop local marketing relationships to bring Octopus EV’s unique lease to electric car shoppers 
  • Coordinate with vehicle ops partner to manage vehicle fulfillment and deliveries
  • Manage lease transaction documentation to ensure compliance
  • With growth, lead and manage local team to scale up the above

What you'll need

  • 7+ years’ experience, ideally including operational and customer-facing experience in a consumer business
  • Experience in a sales role is highly advantageous, especially in auto retail, but experience with driving other high-consideration consumer purchases could be equally attractive
  • Comfort and effectiveness engaging with external stakeholders - customers, marketing partners, operational partners, and more.
  • Experience building channel sales and marketing partnerships is a plus.
  • Passion for electric cars and excitement to introduce electric cars to new EV drivers
  • Ability to carefully utilize existing systems and build new ones to manage complex auto retail transactions, vehicle documentation, and other requirements for business operations.
  • Self-motivation and organization to be effective in a distributed organization
  • To be based out of the LA or San Francisco areas
