SUMMARY

This role is responsible for providing forward-looking market intelligence to inform supply chain decisions, with a strong focus on pricing trends, supply availability, and external risk factors. The advisor partners closely with sourcing, category management, and planning teams to translate market data and macroeconomic signals into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Success in this role requires the ability to synthesize complex data into clear guidance that supports procurement strategies, mitigates supply risk, and enhances overall supply chain resilience.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor market trends, supply conditions, and macroeconomic factors to develop a forward-looking view of external forces impacting the supply chain
  • Develop and synthesize data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights on pricing, supply availability, and market dynamics that inform business decisions
  • Translate market intelligence into strategic recommendations that support sourcing, supply planning, and risk mitigation efforts
  • Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, planning, and business stakeholders to align priorities and support decision-making requirements
  • Identify supplier, material, and external risks and assess potential business impacts using established risk frameworks and playbooks
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management program, including risk taxonomy, classification standards, and consistent reporting methodologies
  • Track, monitor, and prioritize risks over time, establishing cadence, escalation criteria, and ranking methodologies to ensure timely visibility and action
  • Drive risk ownership and accountability by assigning stakeholders and ensuring progression through mitigation, closure, or reclassification
  • Collaborate with systems, data, and IT teams to develop dashboards, metrics, and tools that enhance risk tracking and decision-making
  • Provide real-time guidance to teams managing supply disruptions and identify opportunities to improve market intelligence and risk management processes

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business or Engineering required.
  • 4+ years of experience in supply chain or business relevant experience required.
  • Experience in category management, sourcing, procurement or supply chain management preferred
  • Experience working in market analysis and/or risk management in O&G, MRO or industrial companies preferred
