The Role
 

House & Garden is looking for a Market Editor to work closely with the Style, E-commerce, and Commercial teams to identify emerging trends, and act as a key ambassador for the brand within the interiors and design industry.

Reporting into the Director of Content Strategy and working closely with the Style Director, this role is for a seasoned editor with an established industry network, strong editorial instincts, and the ability to produce fast, accurate, and engaging copy.

Experience in product curation and still-life shoot production is advantageous but not essential.

What will you be doing?

  • Identify emerging design, interiors, and lifestyle trends and translate them into engaging editorial content.

  • Oversee House & Garden's market pages across print and digital channels liaising with brands and PR agencies to secure imagery, product information, pricing, credits, and captions.

  • Write compelling cross platform copy covering trends, industry news, events, product launches, and shopping features.

  • Compile and maintain buying guides, product round-ups, and design fair rounds-up. 

  • Work closely with the Style Director on still life shoot concepts and product selection.  

  • Research and source products, trends, and exclusive pieces for editorial features.

  • Work with the Digital director and ecommerce team to curate digital shopping edits.

  • Maintain awareness of industry developments, new launches, and key market activity.

  • Represent the title at industry events, launches, clients meetings and trade shows.

  • Ensure all content reflects House & Garden's editorial standards and tone of voice.

  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required. 

About you

  • Significant editorial experience, ideally within interiors, design, lifestyle, luxury, or consumer publishing.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of the interiors and design market.

  • Proven ability to identify and interpret emerging trends.

  • Established network of industry contacts, including brands, PRs, and designers.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.

  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of retail landscape
