A Day in the LifeThe Market Development Specialist & Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, accelerating the adoption of Medtronic Endoscopy solutions, and building strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem, particularly within gastroenterology, digestive endoscopy, and minimally invasive surgery.
This role combines market development responsibilities with direct commercial ownership, acting as a bridge between strategy, clinical education, and sales execution.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, analytical capabilities, and consultative selling skills to drive the adoption of innovative technologies and generate sustainable business growth.
Within the Medical Surgical group, you will report to the Endoscopy operating unit, which notably offers a range of endoscopy products for therapeutic and diagnostic digestive endoscopy. You will be part of the Eastern regional team. Your portfolio includes innovative products for the diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of hepatology and gastroenterology, covering both capital equipment and consumables. For this position, your territory will be the East of Spain, with base in Valencia.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Identify growth opportunities and market expansion initiatives within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement market development plans aligned with business strategy.
  • Partner with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), endoscopy units, hospitals, and clinical teams to drive awareness and technology adoption.
  • Coordinate educational activities, workshops, trainings, and clinical programs related to endoscopist.
  • Develop penetration strategies for target accounts and new market segments.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Clinical, and Commercial Excellence teams to maximize execution and business impact.
  • Manage the full sales cycle within the assigned territory.
  • Build strong relationships with gastroenterologists, endoscopists, surgeons, procurement departments, hospital management, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate agreements in line with corporate policies.
  • Maintain an accurate and active sales pipeline through CRM tools.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and post-sales support.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is required in electrical or medical engineering or related scientific disciplines
  • At least 10 year of experience in the medical devices or life sciences industry
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Strong team player in a cross-functional environment; flexible and willing to travel as required
  • Independent, self-reliant, and accountable; strong sense of responsibility
  • Enthusiastic and decisive
  • Advanced presentation and negotiation skills; able to operate in competitive environments and adapt quickly to change
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision; Team oriented
