Working with Market Development leadership, the Market Development Senior Associate drives client acquisition and retention marketing efforts in a defined location with support from market development managers. This position will integrate national line-of-business and industry marketing campaigns and programs with local efforts to: Deepen client/prospect relationships, build local community, and deliver on the 5 C’s promise.
Essential Duties
Driven by a strong understanding of RSM’s business and local market’s growth objectives, and with support of Market Development leadership, this individual supports local marketing plan and budget aligned with Communications, Marketing and Growth (CMG), including national industry and line of business strategies that strengthen relationships with key geographic targets, including existing clients and prospects and key community influencers.
In addition, this individual:
- Collaborates with local teams to define and identify targets, providing the tools and market insight to improve targeting decisions; understands national industry targets relevant to the local market and ensures alignment to growth acceleration teams (GATs) and local office teams to advance relationships.
- Works in partnership with aligned business developers to achieve strategic growth objectives
- Understands local communication goals in support of strategic growth objectives.
- Understands the purpose and process for account pursuit plans; participates as a team member in strategy development discussions and offers an informed perspective on ways to deepen the relationship through a marketing lens i.e. relevant content, marketing programs, etc.
- Develops a deep understanding of market priority industries and line--of-business marketing strategies, including working knowledge of available programs, thought leadership and other marketing content.
- Leads and manages the execution of marketing projects, as directed by the Local Market Development Manager (LMD), ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic goals and branding guidelines.
- Helps implement and supports local events, sponsorships, and contributions
- Helps in the advancement and development of relationships with focus targets through transparency into demand generation results using Power BI reports and other tools; synthesize data and use insights to bring ideas to local teams on how to accelerate target relationships.
- Advances and supports the firm’s commitment to delivering on our RSM experience and promotes and supports our 5C’s behaviors as a differentiator in the market.
- Assists LMD with tracking and measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership
- Assists LMD in the maintaining relationships with strategically aligned external organizations including relevant industry and business associations/organizations ensuring alignment with national industry/LOB strategy, CMG strategy or local goals focused on advancing relationships with identified focus targets.
- Manage external vendors and agencies, ensuring quality deliverables that meet the firm's marketing standards and timelines.
- Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the firm’s brand standards
- Identify and help research community involvement activities, such as board positions for local professionals, that will help build community and help us show case our brand to focused targets and centers of influence
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

- Thorough understanding of various marketing channels
- Strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done

EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years marketing/growth experience in B2B environment required
- Proven success supporting marketing and relationship development programs
- Must know Microsoft Excel, PPT, Word, Teams Proven experience managing end-to-end marketing projects with a focus on timelines, budgets, and results.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo) CRM systems, and analytics tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a history of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making to optimize marketing efforts
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, adapting to changing priorities.
