About Red Hat and the Role
At Red Hat, the world's leading provider of enterprise open-source solutions, we believe that the best technology is built through transparent collaboration. Our Swiss operations are experiencing unprecedented growth as we guide the world's largest pharmaceutical, financial, and manufacturing institutions through complex digital transformations.
We are currently seeking a highly driven, intellectually agile, and bilingual (German/English) Market Development Representative (MDR) to serve as the strategic engine of our Swiss sales organization. This is not a standard, high-volume lead-generation role; it is a high-impact, consultative position aimed at identifying strategic business opportunities.
As an MDR, you will operate at the critical intersection of marketing and direct sales, driving highly qualified inbound and outbound pipeline generation for our industry-defining solutions across hybrid cloud infrastructure, containerization (Red Hat OpenShift), and IT automation (Ansible). You will not just be booking meetings; you will be acting as a strategic consultant, leveraging advanced sales methodologies to architect the foundation of enterprise deals.
What you will do:
As a Market Development Representative, your core mandate is to build, iterate, and execute sophisticated pipeline generation strategies. Your day-to-day impact will include:
Orchestrated Pipeline Generation: Take full ownership of the early-stage sales funnel by executing highly targeted, multi-channel outbound campaigns (email, phone, social selling) while rigorously qualifying inbound marketing leads generated across Switzerland.
MEDDPICC Qualification Mastery: Leverage the industry-leading MEDDPICC sales methodology to conduct deep-dive technical discovery. You will map complex organizational hierarchies, identify specific IT infrastructure pain points (Pain), establish early financial baselines (Metrics), and cultivate internal technical advocates (Champions) before seamlessly transitioning qualified opportunities to our Senior Account Executives.
Executive-Level Engagement: Initiate consultative dialogues with C-level executives, IT Directors, and DevOps leaders, confidently positioning Red Hat as the definitive, secure solution for their cloud modernization and automation challenges.
Cross-Functional GTM Synergy: Act as the critical nexus between Marketing, Sales Operations, and the Account Executive teams. You will provide front-line market intelligence and real user insights to continually refine our go-to-market (GTM) strategies and ensure a frictionless, world-class buyer journey.
What you will bring:
The ideal candidate is relentless, coachable, and hyper-focused on professional growth. To succeed in this demanding environment, you must bring:
Linguistic Fluency: Proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory. (Fluency in French is a big plus).
IT Sales Acumen: Demonstrated knowledge of, or a deep, proactive passion for, the enterprise IT landscape (Cloud computing, SaaS architecture, Infrastructure, and Open Source software). Prior experience in B2B technology sales, sales development, or a technical customer-facing role is a plus.
Methodological Rigor: Familiarity with modern CRM ecosystems (e.g., Salesforce) and an understanding of structured sales qualification frameworks.
Execution & Resilience: A proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance metrics in a quota-carrying environment, coupled with strong time management skills and the ability to handle rejections gracefully.
