Job Description Summary:

PTC is an established global biopharmaceutical company that delivers transformative therapies for people living with rare diseases. As Market Development Manager, you will support the development of strategy and go-to-market plans for your product areas in Australia and other APAC geographies. Reporting to the Regional Head APAC, you will support strategy development, planning and implementation of marketing & commercial initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to embrace a hybrid role combining strategic brand management with field-based engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key stakeholders.Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary duties/responsibilities:

Day-to-day activities will include building targeted messaging, marketing content, coordination and execution of projects. Key focus is targeting HCP and marketing in rare diseases to develop the market:

To thrive in this role, it will be important that you’re equally comfortable with campaign execution, writing content, messaging, project management, sales enablement, market research and analysis. You will collaborate closely with the APAC team, as well as other cross-functional teams/individuals, agencies, and external stakeholders. You will ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

  • Develop and deliver brand and go-to-market strategies aligned with regional priorities
  • Create targeted messaging, campaigns and marketing materials for HCPs and patient audiences
  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives, including digital, social and awareness campaigns
  • Support sales enablement through high-quality tools, insights and content
  • As key customer liaison, spend approximately 50% of time on field-based work which will require travel within Australia
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HCPs, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders
  • Identify and develop opportunities for growth within assigned accounts and territories
  • Support market analysis to inform strategy, identify trends and opportunities
  • Be an effective team player with internal cross functional teams and collaborate with external partners
  • Ensure all activities comply with the latest Medicines Australia Code of Conduct, Australian regulatory requirements and company SOPs
  • Represent PTC at meetings, conferences and industry events, with occasionally international travel as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Proven success in pharmaceutical sales, preferably within rare diseases
  • Demonstrated track record of building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Understanding of the healthcare environment in Australia (additional APAC knowledge a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, culturally diverse team environment consisting of internal and external team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines 
  • Demonstrated the aptitude for marketing initiatives, including working at congresses and building campaigns
  • Higher education, preferably within life sciences and/or marketing
